Please welcome Lima Bean to Blackberry Fields! She arrived at 11:30 am on August 12th. She was a big girl (like her brothers before her) with a birth weight of 18.6 lbs. She was born SO fast she didn’t get enough time in the birth canal to “wake up” so we had to do the Madigan Squeeze on her. Mama also had a milk issue so little Lima Bean spent several days on a bottle. (Two firsts for us here on the farm) She’s thriving now and getting into so much mischief, she keeps getting spit on 🤣 And also - so you’re in on the inside joke - her big brothers are Pork Chop and Applesauce and that’s how she got her name 😉

Our second cria of the year. She is my pride and joy! This little girl is the first alpaca that will carry my farm name ❤️ Her mama is RR Gretel and her papa is the amazing Appaloosa Rare Gem X Man. She will be known as “X Man’s X Marks the Spot of Blackberry Fields Alpacas”. She showed up unexpectedly on August 2nd weighing in at 19.4 lbs! (She was 12 days early)
