Today we lay to rest the 4th generation on the homestead of Schnabel Ranch.

Larry taught us all this way of living the farm life whether it was working cattle or working in the field. Most of all he supported us and believed in us as years went on and we took over the Ranch. We promised him we would teach the next generations to come just as he did.

Here are some memories we will hold close.

Approximately 240 steers and 210 heifers weighing 750-825 # with absolutely no creep feed or implants plus full rounds of shots.

Many will be sired by Schnabel Ranch Simmentals bulls. They always select top quality bulls.

We want to start showcasing some of our feature bulls for our upcoming sale.

No better way to to start than lot 113!!!

We like to call him Code Black around the place.

He is homozygous black, homozygous polled, and sired by FHCC Honor Code out of a LRS Falcon first calf heifer. This guy is a man among boys. From day one I always thought he was going to be special but he has surpassed my expectations.
Born at just 85 # at birth and went on to smash the scales with an actual WW of 872 # without any creep feed and a 129 WW ratio.

For the amount of shear power and mass he possesses he moves so sound and smooth. Big topped, deep, soggy middle, and a huge hip with nearly perfect feet and legs.

When you begin to study him on paper he ranks in the top 1% of the breed for WW, YW, ADG, & MWW. Along with top 2% TI, 5% CW & REA for a combined 12 EPDs in the top 35% or better in the breed.

He is definitely a bull we would like to collect and use back in the herd.
