Two rigs rolling side by side — rotary hoeing our non-GMO soybeans yesterday. It’s one of our favorite early-season tools in the non-GMO program. Breaks up the soil crust, uproots tiny w**d seedlings before they get a foothold, and gives our beans the best possible start — all without reaching for a chemical. Old-school agronomy that still works.

Yes, that’s a 4640 with its tongue hanging out but it gets the job done!!

Spring in Central Illinois means long days, late nights, and the exciting start of another corn crop. 🌽

This photo captures what planting season really looks like — equipment rolling, fertilizer and seed moving, and one more time filling the planter before the sun goes down. There’s something special about those spring evenings on the farm… tired hands, dusty equipment, and a lot of hope riding into the next season. Praying everyone has a safe spring!!

Getting soybean fields ready for the 2026 season! 🌱 We’re out applying a pre-plant herbicide ahead of our NGMO soybeans — one of the most important steps we take to set these acres up for a clean, successful start. Grateful for good weather, great people, and the technology that helps us do this work efficiently and precisely. Here we go! 🚜.

Spring is getting closer 🌱

This week we’re in the shop going through the planter and replacing wear parts so it’s ready to go when the weather and calendar give us the green light. A lot of small details now helps us hit the ground running later.

Grateful for another season ahead and excited to plant the 2026 crop soon!

Not everything goes as smooth as planned on the farm!

We had our first CNH Flagship combine rim crack and break this fall. Not fun, but we did learn a lot through the experience. Managing very dry corn stalks while using a torch to cut part of the damaged rim also led to some excitement keeping any glowing embers covered in water. Thankful for a good team of people to get this combine up and going within a few hours!
