We’ve achieved a few of our goals this year. We now have a line of wild type celadon layers (brown birds that can be feather-sexed and lay blue eggs) and have produced a group of Jumbo Pansy Fee. We will have all of our birds and egg varieties posted on our Instagram with some exciting news coming on Friday!

I love having babies in the house. Not sure if I’ll ever stop incubating at home.

Are any of our friends are looking for a sustainable source of eggs and meat? Looking to raise birds from babies and watch them grow or maybe wanting to start with a group of adult birds that are already laying eggs? Our hens lay an egg a day putting our chickens to shame and we have groups of birds in a few different color varieties looking for new coops. If you are wanting to get started, or just have a little interest and lots of questions, feel free to reach out to us. We would love to talk quail with you and help meet your needs.

We have a whole spectrum of color in our Celadon line and are working on isolating some of those beautiful colors into more intentional groups. So excited about what our Blue Celadon birds are giving us and can’t wait to have a solid group of Blue birds laying blue eggs! Here’s one of our week old babies as well as a more mature example of our Blue collection.

We’re really excited about our Pansy group at their 5 week mark. They are huge, beautiful and full of personality. They are all born with red heads, but only the males keep them. We hope to see eggs next week from our hens and to get our roosters crowing so we can pair them up with our cross projects and of course to add to our Pansy breeding group. So grateful to for eggs that absolutely lived up to the hype and then some. Our batch was male heavy but we got a trio of hens to bring in the next generation of Pansy this spring. So so excited for what is to come.

Looking to downsize on our Chinese Painted Quail group. I have four hens that are laying and ready to go. These ladies are extremely social and must go in no less than pairs. They are not a bird that likes to be handled but are able to be hand-fed once they have grown used to your presence and their new surroundings. They are very quiet but very active and fun to watch. They lay little olive green eggs daily. Feel free to shoot us a message with any questions.

We decided to add a new quail species this year. Our Chinese Painted Quail are the smallest member of the Quail family. They have the most beautiful little calls and we are so excited to be getting eggs from them already this season!
