It's going to be a beautiful day to shop at the Evansdale IA Farmers Markets, Saturday 6/20 from 9 am-12 pm! We have a fantastic variety of locally grown fruits and vegetables sure to be a hit with every summertime meal, including strawberries🍓, romaine and butter crunch leaf lettuce🥗, cabbage, tomatoes🍅, cucumbers🥒, 3 colors of kohlrabi, asparagus, radishes, bell peppers🫑, onions🧅, beets🫜, snap peas and snow peas, zucchini, and more! We also have some baked confections to satisfy your flavor cravings, including flavored bagels🥯, a fine assortment of artisan breads🍞🥖 and dinner rolls, sourdough breads, banana🍌 and blueberry🫐 bread, Monster🧟‍♂️🍪⁹ cookies and other gourmet giant cookies! We are still having the farmers market today from 3-6 pm! Looks like the storms will be absent during the market time!😃

Well, it's June and Iowa, so severe weather⛈️🌪️ is always a possibility! The forecast🧐 for this afternoon has severe thunderstorms⚡⛈️ happening before 2 pm, and again when the farmers market is just about over around 5 pm, so we plan to be open from 3-5 pm, even to 6 pm as scheduled, depending on the weather timing. We will keep a close eye on things, and at 12 pm if the forecast shifts to where it will likely be raining/storming between 3-5 pm, we will cancel the market. We are also dealing with dangerously high heat index, so, between the weather and some vendors' health issues, there may not be as many vendors. We will still have a good variety of fresh and locally grown produce, some baked goods (yeast bread and dinner rolls, bagels, cookies), plants, and some artisan crafts🧢👕. One vendor will have lemonade🍋! There will be a rainbow of produce, including radishes, purple/green/yellow beans, to rhubarb, SNAP peas, cucumbers🥒, spring onions, kale/spinach/lettuce🥗, tomatoes🍅, kohlrabi, garlic🧄 scapes, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, asparagus, and more! Our produce vendors are all authorized to accept Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and UNI Veggie Vouchers! The UNI Veggie Vouchers can also be used to purchase food producing plants and seeds!
