What’s with the name?

That’s what you might be thinking!
Boot Scootin’ Butt Nuggets is definitely a funny name!

It all started years ago, when I stated going Line Dancing with my dad, back in 2020. I fell in love with it! Dad and I would go almost every Tuesday night, and to this day we still do!

At that time, I had a small flock.
People at Line Dancing knew I had chickens (I wonder if all my chicken shirts gave it away?), and one day someone asked if they could buy eggs from me.
That was my first egg sale!

I started bringing a few dozen eggs with me to line dancing, to sell to some of the amazing people there!
I was asked if I had a name yet for my “egg business” (if you could call it that!)

I thought on it for a while.
I wanted something Line Dancing related, and Boot Scooting Boogie came up.
I also know some people call eggs “butt nuggets”.

After throwing some names around with some friends, I settled on “Victoria’s Boot Scootin’ Butt Nuggets”!

Not only is it humorous and funny, but I think it perfectly fits my flock!

Chicken of the Week:
Meet P**f!
I got her at Rural King on April 15, 2020.
This makes her my (currently) oldest hen!
She is a Buff Orpington, from Hoovers Hatchery, & lays light brown eggs.
Her name was given to her because of that magnificent “poof” on her back! She was named by my sister.
P**f is currently going through “hen-opause”, meaning she has reached retirement age and has probably stopped laying eggs by now… maybe one or two eggs laid here and there!
Because of the henopause, she is going through a hormonal shift. This has lead her to start growing spurs! You can see them in the picture! Did you know older hens can grow spurs like roosters? I sure didn’t!
She may be old, and not as “productive”, but she’s very much earned her retirement here in my flock!
