Evansville residents are still digging out from under an unexpectedly powerful storm Monday evening. 50-mph winds snapped trees and flung them across streets and onto houses and vehicles. Power lines were caught in the fray; more than 32,000 CenterPoint customers lost electricity Monday night.

But as residents are taking stock of the damage, neighbors like Chris and Shannon Owen — owners of Cheshire Curiosities MicroFarm + Homestead — are reaching for their chain saws and coming to the rescue.

We got our road cleared for through traffic thanks to the help of some new neighbors we met. Then we got a call to help someone in the community so we came to assist.

We may be just two people but we want to make a true community impact here in Evansville. We want to make it kinder. We want to be the neighbor that helps and loves others without conditions.

If you still need help, let us know. We are are tapped out for the day but once we recharge our batteries, we will do our best. 🌱💚✌

Due to acts of the Midwest and for the obvious reason these pictures depict, we will have to cancel this week's Home Deliveries. We will work out refunds in the coming days and reschedule all of our monthly deliveries.

We are trying to figure out all the moving parts to our lives right now. We have no clue when the city will be able to help us with our vehicles as the tree debris stretches all the way across the street. Our street is entirely blocked off. We spent the evening cutting off small branches and tarping Shannon's car to help prevent water damage just in case the car isn't completely totalled.

Send us good vibes. Praying the next wave doesn't bring more chaos!!

We will have a large variety of local vendors to shop; you can grab a bite to eat at one of the food trucks on-site; access community info; and more ~ all while having a fun-filled day shopping & supporting local farms & small businesses 💚

This month's local non-profit organization we are spotlighting is our Southwestern Indiana Chapter of American Red Cross ❤️

The American Red Cross is essential to EVERY community, as they provide assistance in SO many different ways! They other assistance to those in our area affected by a home fire, tornado, or other natural disasters; they hold blood drives to collect blood for those able to donate - which in turn saves LIVES here in town 💞 They provide an assortment of lifesaving skills, certifications, educational programs, and more! The American Red Cross also provides help for members of the military, veterans, and their families to prepare for, cope with and respond to the challenges of military service 🇺🇸

So come, help us celebrate our local 1st Responders; raise awareness for American Red Cross; and collect donations on-site for our community chapter with them 💙

We look forward to seeing everyone there 💞
