VREC Welcomes Liz Butterfield
I’m pleased to introduce myself and excited to begin this new chapter with VREC. For the past decade, I have served as the Executive Assistant and Communications Coordinator for the North Country Supervisory Union, supporting the superintendent, managing district communications, organizing events, and contributing to safety and crisis planning. Before coming to NCSU, I filled a similar role at Orleans Central Supervisory Union. My work has centered on clear communication, strong relationships, and helping systems run smoothly.
My husband and I own and operate Butterfield Farm Stand and Greenhouse, a thriving business we’ve built over the past six years. Each season we offer hanging baskets, annuals and perennials, fresh vegetables, beef, eggs, and products from neighboring farms. Growing this business has been a source of pride and a wonderful way to stay connected to our community. It has been a fun way to reconnect with customers and friends from our previous business, the Barton Village Corner Store.
At the core of everything I do is family. We are the proud grandparents of nine lively grandchildren who bring endless joy to our lives, and my 93-year-old mother lives with us, adding warmth and a strong sense of tradition to our home. I look forward to bringing the same spirit of connection, commitment, and care to my work with all of you.

We are fortunate to have Liz begin in January in the new part-time Administrative Assistant position at VREC!
