Just wanna share a little story with you guys which made me pretty upset recently.
We had a family came in recently which has a little kid, when they walked in, the kid went to the huge Panda sign and started knocking it hardly, also stepped on the panda dolls(it was a raining day) and pulled the balloon which’s in the panda statue’s hand, I didn’t stop her or say anything cuz it happens, they are kid, that’s the nature of kids, I understand it and respect it, even sometimes it makes me little bit upset, I will take it, I just want our customers come in with smile and walk out with smile. But the thing happened after really blew my mind, the kid started standing on and climbing the panda statue, so I said “ hi honey, you couldn’t stand on it”, which I thought it’s a very usual reminder, but the dad said “ I don’t think she’s gonna break it by just standing on it and I don’t believe she’s the only one who did this, if she breaks it I will pay for it”. I said” true, but if every kid does it, it will break eventually”. Then I continued placing the order didn’t talk about it any further, meanwhile the kid continued stood on the couch, knocked the counter bar side wall and pulled the balloon in the statue’s hand again. I ignored all, you can't wake up someone who's pretending to be asleep, you can’t advise someone who’s refusing any advices. After done ordering, they went back to the gaming area, the kid went directly to the warning line which is my hand built for protecting customers don’t get too close to the laser projector get eyes hurt by the laser, she immediately started pulling the warning tape, I went back said “ honey you can’t do that” tried to stop her pulling it. The dad said “ you don’t need to come over teach me how to behave my kid, I know how to behave my own kid, is she the only one doing this? I bet she’s not! She’s only 2 years old”. I was so mad after he said those, I said” that’s so right, that’s why parents need to teach them, they so young don’t know what’s wrong what’s right but parents should know”. “ you need to respect the property when you go to a public area”. He chose to be quiet and I went back to counter. Then he started pretending to rebuke the kid but actually rebuked me “ you’d better stay with us, I don’t want someone comes over again to teach me how to behave my own kid” “ this is crazy, social media is ……. “. I didn’t catch the rest of the conversation, I guess they wanted to post something bad about us on social media. He kept saying stuffs with a enigmatic tone which pushed me almost to my limit. I tried, really tried to control myself, I went back said, “ sir, I will refund you, you shall leave!” He said “ are you serious? Are you joking? This is crazy ”. I was afraid I couldn’t control myself anymore so I walked away and let him make the choose, I didn’t want to argue with him to cause any further problems. He chose to wait for the drink, I let my wife make the drinks and told my wife “ when you deliver the drinks, if they say thank you to you, you should say you’re welcome. Also say have a nice day when they leave, that’s what we do that’s what we should do”. Then I went to restroom to let myself cooldown. When I walked out they were gone, another family with kid was in, they are our loyal customers, she said “ the guy who just left stopped us by the door and told us do not come here, you guys are terrible! I just ignored him I know it’s not true I know how you treat your customers!”
This is the story I wanna share with you guys. I don’t know if the family could see this or not, I apologize to you especially to the dad for being too emotional and unprofessional. We probably won’t see each other again but just in case we do, I hope we won’t see each other as enemy. Life’s beautiful, so are people! Look forward, take care.
