Stop #2 of the day — Highland Elementary!

I have to say it… I absolutely love the office staff at Highland Elementary! They always make our visits so much fun and make The Plant Man feel right at home.

Today we were able to deliver a classroom plant to the wonderful Mrs. Schefer, thanks to Whitney Harris!

A special thank you to Whitney for helping us start Mrs. Schefer’s day with a smile and showing another amazing teacher in our community a little extra appreciation.

Sometimes it really is the simple things — a plant, a surprise, and knowing someone was thinking about you.

First stop of the day: Evansville Christian School!

Today we had the pleasure of delivering two classroom plants to Mrs. Woodard and Mrs. Manning, thanks to the generosity of Brandi O’Donnell!

A special thank you to Brandi for helping us spread a little green love to two amazing teachers in our community. 💚

We hope these plants bring a little extra life, happiness, and green to their classrooms all year long!

Two more classrooms. Two more teachers appreciated. And The Plant Man isn’t slowing down yet!

Days like today remind me that The Plant Man has become about so much more than plants.

I wasn’t expecting a plant pickup to leave me in tears today.

One of our customers stopped by to pick up the plants she snagged during The Plant Man’s presale, and somehow our conversation turned into something much bigger than plants.

She shared with me what she does for a living — providing hospice care for infants and young children — and a little about what led her into such an incredibly difficult line of work.

I’m still thinking about it.

The huge heart, thick skin, strength, and selfless devotion it must take to walk alongside families during some of the absolute worst moments of their lives is something I can’t even put into words. To willingly step into that heartbreak day after day and be a source of comfort and care for those babies, children, and their families… what an incredible human being!

And then she told me about plants.

She shared how caring for plants has helped with her own healing — having something to nurture, watch grow, and take care of after spending so much of herself caring for others.

That one got me.

To this amazing woman — thank you for sharing your story with me today. And more importantly, thank you for what you do for children and families when they need someone like you the most.

I hope these plants bring you even a fraction of the peace and comfort that you give to so many others. 🌿❤️
