At Scarmardo Gin Co, here in Texas, the cotton has been ginned, it's pressed and baled and ready for shipment.

The first step, the bales are loaded on a conveyor belt in this huge building. As they come to this end they are picked and the cotton is blown through a large pipe to the building over on the right for more processing.

Traveling through Texas, we came across this Cotton Gin! We were able to peak in and take some pics. No one available for a tour but we pretty much know what's going on here!

A ginormous amount of bales and bales of cotton from this farm and the local farms are delivered here. The bales are put through the huge opener where the plastic is taken off and then it's picked, and blown through a large pipe over to the building across where it gets separated even more. Then pressed, and bound into large bags. Out to the covered area to be loaded into the semi for shipment to the mills.

Well all the alpacas now have new homes. We are critter-less for the first time in over 20 years. It's been a wonderful time but now time to move onto the next chapter. We still have lots of yarn, socks, and other finished goods and will probably still be at the market and fiber expo when this world gets back to normal.
