The process of creating our Goat Milk Soaps-
Small soap batches are handcrafted with the old fashioned cold process method, but instead of water, we use our fresh goat milk produced in season here on our farm.
By slowly adding lye to our frozen goat milk so as not to burn the milk, the milk fats begin the saponification process.
Next, the lye/milk mixture is added to our proprietary blend of Extra Virgin Olive, Organic Shea, Coconut, RSPO certified Palm, Castor, and Avocado oils and emulsified until trace.
Now it’s time to add any fragrances and skin safe mica colorants to produce the artisan designs utilizing different pouring techniques that have been pre-planned for each soap’s distinctive characteristic.
The loaves are then placed in the refrigerator to keep cool. After a day and a half in the mold, each loaf is unmolded and cut to reveal the design inside.
The hardest part has now begun- waiting the four to six weeks for cure time! Oh, but the wait is well worth the time! As the bars cure, they slowly transform into soap. No lye or oils are present in the final product as the lye and oils chemically change or saponify into our gentle cleansing soaps. Thank you for purchasing our soaps.
