This Friday, we’re bringing a little piece of El Malecón de La Punta, Callao to our corner in Shoreline.
One of my favorite memories growing up in Peru wasn’t just eating street food—it was the walk. We’d spend the evening by the ocean, listening to the waves and catching up with family. On the way back, the street vendors would begin to call.
Every carretilla had its specialty. Some grilled anticuchos fresh to order while you watched. Others filled the air with the sweet aroma of freshly made picarones and invited you over with playful rhymes that made everyone smile.
It wasn’t just about the food.
It was the excitement of choosing where to stop, watching your meal come together, and sharing it with the people you love.
That’s the feeling we’re hoping to recreate this Friday.
