Meet our , Janco Vermeulen, Ph.D., CEM! Born and raised in South Africa, Janco has always had an interest in business and entrepreneurship. Engineering appealed to him because of the constantly evolving opportunities to solve real world problems. As demand for water and energy has grown, he has focused his expertise and business interests on solutions that can make a positive difference.

Janco holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from North West University and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM). Throughout his career, he has specialized in the connection between water and energy use, developing solutions that help reduce water consumption, energy demand, chemical dependence and operating costs across commercial and industrial facilities, as well as international mining operations. His experience also includes helping implement novel electrochemical water treatment systems for leading Fortune 500 companies.

Janco joined WaterTectonics in 2026 as our Director of Strategic Solutions & Partnerships. In his words, he is a “matchmaker” between our customers' needs and the partners, technologies and solutions that can meet them. By bringing those pieces together, Janco helps our team tackle complex water challenges and identify solutions that make sense for each application.

Outside of work, Janco is a family man first and foremost, and spending time with his family is his favorite way to spend his time. He also enjoys good food, w**e, a great view and just about any sport. We’re glad to have you on the WaterTectonics team, Janco!

A behind the scenes look at for this ! Electrical Wireman Eli is wiring instrumentation for an R&D pilot system being developed for the National Alliance for Water Innovation (NAWI). The system is designed to remove boron from treated seawater without chemical addition or additional reverse osmosis passes. Pretty cool to see innovation taking shape right here on our manufacturing floor.

from Alabama! Our field team recently set up this temporary sand filtration and granular activated carbon (GAC) treatment system for a confidential client. The system is treating cooling tower water for copper, providing a temporary treatment solution designed around the needs of the site and application. From temporary treatment needs to long term water challenges, our team works to deliver practical solutions that perform in the field.

Another project getting ready to head out the door! Our manufacturing team recently completed these cartridge filter skids, headed to the Midwest as part of a groundwater treatment system. From fabrication through final assembly, our team continues to deliver quality water treatment equipment built to meet the needs of each project. Great work by everyone involved in bringing these systems together!

Following the addition of Dynamic Water Technologies’ team and technology to WaterTectonics, we’re excited to bring our combined expertise to Orlando and showcase DSR® technology for cooling tower water treatment.
