WaterTectonics will be attending the upcoming Battelle Chlorinated Conference, taking place May 31 – June 4 in Fort Worth, Texas. Research Manager Bryan Nielsen and Director of Innovation Thomas Igou, Ph.D. will be representing WaterTectonics at this year’s event. Dr. Igou will also serve as lead presenter for Abstract #328: “The Minus Approach” to Remediating PFAS in Drinking and Wastewater Sites.” Co-developed with Minus Filtration, the session will highlight emerging membrane innovation alongside WaterTectonics’ PFAS pilot treatment capabilities and ongoing work supporting PFAS remediation applications. We look forward to connecting with others in the environmental remediation community throughout the week in Fort Worth.

Today’s spotlight: Scott, Caitlin, and Kurt loading 80 membranes into a mobile Reverse Osmosis (RO) system down in Texas. Did you know WaterTectonics also deploys advanced membrane treatment technologies in the field? From ultrafiltration (UF) to reverse osmosis (RO), our team supports clients with mobile and permanent treatment solutions designed to tackle complex water challenges across a wide range of applications. Always great seeing another system coming together and ready for deployment.

A little lunchtime appreciation for the team today! 🌭 Employees enjoyed a catered hot dog & sausage lunch (with all the fixings) from Dante's Inferno Dogs, followed by a quick company update and safety program brief. We’ve had Dante out to the office a few times over the years, and it’s always something the team looks forward to. (The Seattle Dog continues to be a crowd favorite!) Always nice to take a break, catch up with coworkers, and enjoy some great food together.

Closed loop systems don’t always stay closed. When excess water needs to be discharged, meeting permit limits can quickly become a challenge.

One recent highlight is the 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 – 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦, where WaterTectonics helped a long time industrial client address zinc compliance issues tied to intermittent discharge events from their cooling water system.

To support consistent compliance, our team delivered a 50 GPM chemical treatment, settling, and filtration system designed to integrate into the existing process with a minimal footprint. The retrofit allows the facility to reliably meet sanitary sewer discharge limits while continuing to operate their closed loop cooling system without disruption.

Here’s a look at one of our 200 gallon per minute CESF systems in action for BNBuilders at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. Treating construction stormwater for pH and turbidity, this system helps maintain compliance while keeping site work moving forward. From setup through operation, it’s always great to see these systems delivering results in the field.

Water reuse is becoming a priority across more industries and food & beverage is no exception. One recent example is a Midwest beverage manufacturing facility, where WaterTectonics helped turn wastewater into a reusable resource for can washing operations.

Using a skid-mounted ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) system, the solution removes suspended solids, bacteria, and dissolved contaminants to meet strict reuse standards, helping reduce freshwater demand while maintaining consistent production.

Designed, engineered, and built in-house, the system was delivered turnkey with performance targets to support reliable, day-to-day operations. As more facilities look for ways to reduce water consumption and improve sustainability, solutions like this are becoming a key part of the conversation.

Here’s a look at one of our Dynamic Scale Reactor (DSR) systems in the final stages of production. This system will support an advanced cooling tower application for a leading aerospace client in the Midwest, helping reduce scale and improve overall operational efficiency.

Designed for performance and adaptability, DSR technology works in real time to mitigate scaling, reducing maintenance demands while optimizing heat exchange under changing conditions. From fabrication through final staging, it’s always rewarding to see systems like this moving one step closer to operation.

As we kick off the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) Convention 2026 this week, we’re highlighting a project that reflects the real-world challenges many recyclers are navigating today. One recent example is a 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐫, where WaterTectonics is helping manage 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 under strict discharge requirements. Facing elevated metals and solids, the site required a reliable, adaptable treatment approach. Our team deployed a treatment system designed to consistently meet permit limits, while also supporting ongoing operations with field services and compliance expertise.

Projects like this are a great example of how we help recycling facilities stay ahead of regulatory challenges without slowing down operations. If you’re attending ReMA this week, stop by and connect with TJ Mothersbaugh to talk through your site-specific needs. Explore this project and others to see how we combine treatment technology, field services, and regulatory expertise to keep complex operations running smoothly.
