LA PERUANITA MADE THE NEWS! 🎉❤️

Somebody pinch us! 🥹✨ Our little café and our big Peruvian dream have made it into Everett Herald !

What started over four years ago with a dream of sharing the flavors of my homeland has grown from farmers markets, pop-ups, and catering into our very own little café in Everett. And now, we’re seeing our story shared with the community in a whole new way! ❤️

When I started La Peruanita, I wanted to do more than serve delicious food. I wanted to create connections, celebrate my Peruvian roots, and introduce people to the flavors and traditions that shaped who I am.

Because to me, soulful food is food that tells a story. It’s the memories of home, the people we love, the traditions we carry, and the new memories we create around a table.

And seeing La Peruanita featured in our local newspaper reminds me that this dream is growing, one customer, one conversation, and one delicious bite at a time. 🥹

Hey foodies! 👋 Have you met La Peruanita Café yet? Because we’ve got some deliciousness waiting for YOU! 🤤

Our story started over four years ago with one Peruvian woman, a big dream, and a whole lot of love for her culture and food! 🇵🇪

Meet Susana, the founder of La Peruanita! 👩🏽‍🍳❤️ Born and raised in Lima, Peru, she started La Peruanita with a simple mission: to bring people together through the soulful flavors, traditions, and culinary stories of her homeland.

What started with farmers markets, pop-ups, and catering has grown into something we once only dreamed of… our very own little café! 🏡✨

And while the journey hasn’t always been easy, every customer, every shared meal, and every person who believed in this dream has helped us get here.

Now we’re bringing you a little taste of Peru right here in Everett! 🇵🇪

There’s something special about a Sunday morning in Callao… the smell of fresh bread, café ready, family around the table, and of course someone asking, “¿Quién quiere pan con chicharrón?” ❤️

We’re bringing a little of that feeling to our little café in Everett this Sunday, October 4th from 10 AM–2 PM.

🥖 PAN CON CHICHARRÓN
The Sunday classic! Tender, juicy pork with those delicious crispy edges, sweet camote and bright, tangy salsa criolla tucked into fresh bread. Sweet, savory, crispy, juicy… bien servido y buenazo. 🤤

🌭 SPOTLIGHT: PAN CON SALCHICHA HUACHANA
If you know, YOU KNOW. Salchicha Huachana mixed with fluffy scrambled eggs and piled into warm bread. Savory, comforting and so very Peru. 🇵🇪

🇵🇪 THIS WEEKEND, WE’RE BRINGING A LITTLE PIECE OF LIMA TO EVERETT! 🥖❤️

Pan con Butifarra is coming to La Peruanita Café this Saturday & Sunday!

Picture this: a delicious French roll, fresh butter lettuce, our tangy red onion relish (salsa criolla), and the star of the show… our very own house-made Peruvian Butifarra! 🤤

A little history in every bite…

Did you know that Pan con Butifarra has been part of Lima’s culinary traditions since the 18th century? This beloved sánguche criollo is a beautiful example of Peru’s cultural fusion, bringing together international culinary influences and Peruvian flavors to create something uniquely our own.

But for me, this sandwich is so much more than food.

It takes me back to my childhood in Callao, when my abuelito would take me to “La Chiggi.” We would order pan con butifarra, pan con pavo, and, of course, leche asada for dessert. 🥹

Those little outings were such a treat. I can still remember the excitement of sitting there with my abuelito, waiting for our sandwiches and enjoying something so simple, yet so special.

And THAT is what soulful food means to me.

It’s not just about what we put on your plate. It’s about the memories, the people who shared those flavors with us, and the traditions we carry wherever life takes us.

Now, I get to share a little piece of those memories with you, right here in Everett. ❤️

Introducing BREAKFAST IN EL CALLAO — our new Peruvian breakfast experience inspired by those Sunday mornings in Callao when you wake up already knowing what you want to eat. ❤️

This isn’t just breakfast. We want it to become a La Peruanita tradition — a morning to come together, eat rico, share stories, and experience a little piece of Peru right here at the café.

🥖 PAN CON CHICHARRÓN — starting at 10 AM until SOLD OUT!
Juicy, crispy pork, camote and fresh salsa criolla tucked into bread and ready for that first glorious bite. Come early… because se acaba, se acaba. 😋

And because this is only the beginning, our order-ahead menu will feature additional Peruvian breakfast favorites. As Breakfast in El Callao grows, we’ll keep introducing more sandwiches, breakfast classics and flavors we remember from home.

🥤 And on Breakfast in El Callao days only, we’re bringing out the traditional Surtido and Especial — those colorful, delicious Peruvian fruit drinks that deserve their own comeback.

🫔 Love our tamales? You can also order Peruvian tamales by the dozen directly through the café with 7 days’ notice — perfect for family breakfasts, celebrations, meetings or just because una docenita nunca cae mal. 😉

So… hi. 💕 I’m Susana, the woman behind La Peruanita.

Four years ago, I started with a dream, some Peruvian recipes, a lot of ganas, and honestly… no idea exactly where this journey would take me.

It has NOT been easy. There have been setbacks, long nights, moments of doubt, plans that changed, and plenty of times when giving up would have been easier.

But something beautiful happened along the way: I met some incredible human beings who reminded me to keep going.

MADRES on Casino Road believed in me before I fully believed in myself. They gave La Peruanita space to grow, encouraged my crazy ideas, and became part of this story.

My journey with the Mount Vernon/Skagit Valley business community and now the Greater Everett Chamber of Commerce⁠ connected me with entrepreneurs, mentors, opportunities and people willing to say, “Yes, give her a chance.”

And then there’s YOU. ❤️

The people who found us at farmers markets. Who came back for picarones. Who hired us to cater. Who shared our posts. Who told a friend. Who stood in line. Who celebrated when we sold out and encouraged us when things didn’t go as planned.

Little by little, La Peruanita stopped being just my dream and became something our community helped build.

The food truck I once dreamed about took a different turn…

and somehow that road led us here—to our very own family café. 🥹🇵🇪

Now I’m standing inside La Peruanita Café, cutting pineapple for the smoothies we’re about to serve from OUR OWN counter.

Qué locura. Qué miedo. Y qué bonito.

I still don’t know what’s around the corner. But I do know I’m staying in the game. 💪🏽

And I hope when you walk into our café, you don’t just see smoothies and Peruvian food. I hope you see what can happen when community, cultura, perseverance and a little bit of crazy dreaming come together.

After 4 years of pop-ups, farmers markets, late-night prep, sold-out picarones and SO much love from our community… La Peruanita Café is opening its doors! 💕

Join us THIS SUNDAY, August 30th at 12 PM to celebrate our Grand Opening!

Right now, we’re behind the scenes getting everything ready—testing recipes, tasting a lot of delicious things 😋, putting the finishing touches on the space, and… the menu is officially finalized!
