Sailing provides us with our inspiration, as the graceful interaction of wind and water moves our spirits. In fact, it all began aboard a sailboat, when founders John & Jess distilled their first batch while anchored in a solitary Puget Sound cove. Having opened a bottle of mediocre wine, John poured it into a stockpot, flipped the lid upside down and placed ice on top of the lid. The brandy distillation proceeded slowly with a cup placed in the middle of the pot to collect the drops of alcohol. It worked, but a valuable lesson was learned: your finished spirit is only as good as your starting base. Our new distillery at the waterfront port in Everett, WA boasts retail sales, wholesale production, limited edition spirits - and, our favorite - sail-in access.
