There are so many reasons we love downtown Everett right now, today we’d like to shine a spotlight on the events happening over at Schack Art Center .
If you don’t know about this place-you should! They offer free art exhibitions, a variety of art classes, a world class glassblowing studio, a gallery store featuring local artists, and host a plethora of educational and community events.
First, we are proud to announce that one of our own staffers has a piece of art in the exhibition that opens today. Big congratulations to Renee! We hope you can stop into this free exhibition and check out her art along with all of the other local artists featured.
Next, tonight is a special celebration for Judy Tuohy, their executive director who has led the organization for over 30 years and is responsible for spearheading countless events, public art installations, educational programs, projects, and more. Judy’s efforts to uplift our community can be seen and felt all around Everett, Snohomish County and the state. Donate to her Artist in Residence Legacy Fund today and help keep the arts alive and flourishing in our community (see for info).
This Saturday is the annual Artists Garage Sale, their lively community-focused event where art lovers, collectors, and creatives can find great deals on original art and supplies. We are proud to be donating drinks and snacks to the participating artists. It’s fun and free to attend!
Lastly, next Thursday from 5-8 pm, is their Garden Party, featuring art, hands-on activities, a silent auction, tasty drinks and treats, as well as creative experiences throughout their building (find an RSVP link in our stories today).
Our mission here at our Co-op is to help grow the health of our community from the roots up. We are proud to partner with and support local organizations like that do just that!
