Be Whole Again Farm is hiring for our morning milking crew.

Milker – Raw Milk Dairy

Location: 15659 Highway Y, Excelsior Springs, MO

Hours: 5:30 AM – 11:30 AM (Up to 7 days per week, but we are especially in need of someone to help on Sundays)
Pay: $15 - $18 per hour (based on experience)

Be Whole Again Farm is a family-run, regenerative dairy farm committed to producing high-quality raw milk for our customers. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented milker to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Milk cows efficiently and safely, ensuring proper handling techniques

Maintain strict sanitation protocols to uphold raw milk safety standards

Monitor cow health and report any concerns (injuries, mastitis, changes in behavior, etc.)

Properly clean and sanitize milking equipment, stalls, and work areas

Assist with feeding and general animal care as needed

Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and ensure smooth milking operations

Qualifications:

Experience with dairy cows or large animals is preferred but not required

Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding cleanliness and sanitation

Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment

Must be able to take constructive criticism and communicate effectively

Must handle stress appropriately—abuse of animals or personnel will not be tolerated

Good problem-solving skills and adaptability when challenges arise

Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, working on your feet, and handling animals safely

Reliable transportation and punctuality are a must

If you go in on a whole with a friend, you can each take a half and save yourselves both some money! But I will just deliver both halves to one location, or there would be a $30 delivery fee for the second half to be taken to a second home.

PAYMENT AND DELIVERY
Payment due upon receipt of the meat. The meat will be ready approximate 9/27-10/4.

I will deliver this meat straight to your home, so it doesn't go into my freezer at all. (I usually charge a $30 home delivery fee, but that will be waived on this beef.) But if for some reason you don't want FREE home delivery of your meat, other options are for you to pick it up at Yoder's, our farm, or one of the drop points.

This google form can be used to make your cut decisions. If you are getting a quarter, you have to compromise with whoever is getting the other quarter. FREEZER SPACE?
If you aren't sure you have enough freezer space, the general rule is about 1 cu foot for every 25-35 lbs of meat.

Quick reminder!

If you want to pick up farm products at our new Monday delivery route (blue pins on the google map), the new website will cut off orders at midnight tonight. Just go to BeWholeAgainFarm.com and click on the Shop Now button. If you miss the deadline, you have two options.

1. Call or text Rachel at 816-379-6455 and she can place either a 1 time order or a subscription order for you on our end. (It's super fast and easy for her to do that.)

2. Place a one time order using the generic "G1. Mon or Thurs Route" option. On step 1 of the check out page, scroll ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM and you will see a "Customer Notes" field where you can indicate which specific location you are coming to. (We have an upcoming fix to address the fact that it shows ALL of the drop point instructions for all 50 options on that page.) This option will only let you place a one time order, not a Subscription.

The goal is to have an actual order in the system for everyone who is coming.

A2A2 grass-fed dairy cows available! I recently bought 6 more cows from my favorite breeder, and now I have too much milk, so I've got to sell some cows that are all clustered around the same fall calving windows.
I have 7 100% grass-fed A2A2 cows available that are all curently in milk. 1 papered Jersey, 1 purebred Jersey that could be papered, a Jersey that isn't purebred but looks like she is, a beautiful white Jersey/British White/Normande/Holstein cross dual purposed first time calver that has excellent grass-based genes, a New Zealand Jersey/Normande/Fresian cross that looks mostly Jersey, and two Normande/Holstein cross cows with beautiful Normande coloration.

This google sheet has pricing, links to photos/videos, breed info, age, disease testing info, last calving, last breeding/due date, teat length (ability to handmilk), current milk production, and vaccination history and other general info about our herd and practices. Just keep scrolling to the right in the spreadsheet to see more columns with additional information.

We milk once a day and calf share. Several of my girls are currently nursing their calves still, but Evee is the only cow I'm willing to sell with her bull calf at her side (but at a premium price) because beef prices are so high, I'm hanging on to all of my calves. He is out of our A2A2 registered Jersey bull Master. All of these girls should be bred back by our A2A2 heterozygous polled Jersey bull Master.

All of these cows are 100% grass-fed (no grain). They are rotationally grazed on pasture and supplemented with local grass hay, certified organic alfalfa baleage, non-GMO alfalfa pellets, barley grass fodder, and a little bit of non-GMO molasses, plus high quality free choice minerals. We do not halter break our cows. But they are all very gentle and will generally follow a cheap plastic snow sled with good feed on it, pulled by a long rope attached. If you also use panels or electric fencing to initially make it very obvious to the cow where you want her to go, she should quickly learn the milking routine.

We machine milk all of our cows, but with the ones who have suitable teats, they should easily allow you to hand milk them. We strive to be super transparent about our cows, so feel free to ask any additional questions you might have.
