DUCK FIRST AID KIT
*and instructions for toxin flushes

Rubber gloves
Prid (bumble foot)
Epsom salt (for therapeutic soaking)
Antibiotic ointment without pain relief
Syringes, small and large
Gauze pads
Vetrap
terramycin ointment for eyes
Coconut oil
Activated charcoal (in case of botulism)
Duramycin or Tylan (antibiotics)
Vetericyn
Selenium&E paste (for treating wry neck)
Microcyn AH
small scissors
Exacto knife
tweezers
Poultry Cell(vitamin and niacin boost)
Probiotic and Electrolyte packets
Quickstop (for bleeding)
Nutritional yeast (niacin boost)
Capstar for flystrike (maggots)
Dog crate (for isolation/quarantine)

Poultry Cell or Nutridrench
extra vitamins for newly shipped ducklings or sick ducks.

Vetericyn is a spray or gel used for animals to clean and prevent infections for cuts, abrasions, lacerations, irritations, burns, and moistening post-surgical sites & wound dressings (on the bottle). I bought the vet formula (vf) on Amazon, it's a little stronger and can be used on any animal.

Tylan or Duramycin will help with the symptoms of respitory illness. It is best used orally by syringe.
*When dosing orally always dispense to the side of the throat NOT the center as it could cause them to aspirate!

Flushes for aiding in toxin removal
Flushes**

Epsom Salt Flush:
3 Tsp. Epsom Salts.
1 ½ Cups water
¼ – ½ gram vitamin and electrolyte powder * Optional
2 – 3 times a day for 3 days or until a full recovery is made.

Molasses Flush:
1 cup Molasses
2 ½ gallons water
5 – 6 grams vitamin and electrolyte powder * Optional
! !Do not exceed 8 hours ! ! After 8 hours replace Molasses flush with vitamin and electrolyte water

Activated Charcoal Slurry
1 tsp. Activated Charcoal Powder
8 oz. – Pure Water
Dose 6 – 8 times daily

**These flushes will cause slight to moderate dehydration as they work to expel toxins and foreign matter from your birds system. After giving a flush, offer a steady supply of vitamin and electrolyte fortified water until a full recovery is made.
