🤑PLUS: if you sign up for SNAP you automatically get Double Up Food Bucks. What's that? An additional $1 in produce coupons for every $1 in produce you buy with your SNAP card ($2 for 1 up to $15 a day!)

As a member, you can order through their online system and get the best selection each cycle. Or you can walk in during their listed business hours and purchase from the store - no membership required.

We've got a challenge, and we need your help!

Fewer than 10% of Iowans eat the recommended amounts of produce, and we're particularly bad at eating vegetables (important for our health!).

So, Produce in the Park is looking for volunteers to help us share free taste tests of fresh produce and free samples of simple recipes that highlight our delicious, fresh Iowa-grown produce.

These important volunteers allow people in our community to try vegetables without buying them (and no one wants to waste money on food they won't eat!).

We're recruiting help for Summer 2026, every Thursday from June 4 to Thursday September 24 from 4:30-6:30 PM in the Atlantic City Park.

Volunteer opportunities:

GUEST CHEF:
Prepare a recipe featuring an in-season vegetable available at the farmers market and serve 150 bite-sized samples to market visitors of all ages. Guest Chefs help encourage healthy eating by introducing the community to fresh produce and easy, delicious recipes. Not a master chef? No problem, simple recipes are most popular at our market! Need help finding a good recipe? We can help!
Chefs will connect with market staff on the featured seasonal ingredient in advance of their scheduled week. The chef is asked to use fresh ingredients from our vendors, and the ingredients from vendors are purchased by Produce in the Park Produce.
Chefs are welcome to prepare the recipe at the market, but they are also welcome to prepare the dish elsewhere in advance. If needed, Produce in the Park can provide a table-sized skillet or grill at the market.
Produce in the Park provides sample serving materials, such as napkins, silverware, or small cups, and prints copies of the featured recipe.
Produce in the Park asks Chefs to share their recipe and serving material needs one week ahead of the market, so that the recipe can be printed and publicized in advance.
Guest Chefs serve samples at Atlantic City Park from 4:30–6:30 PM. Setup begins at 3:30 PM.

FRESH PRODUCE SAMPLER:

Provide free fresh produce samples to market attendees of all ages.
Join us for one or two markets per season, Thursdays 4:30-6:30 June - Sept. in the Atlantic City Park.
Fresh Produce Samplers serve samples during open hours of the market, 4:30–6:30 PM. Setup begins at 3:30 PM. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 4:00.
