We have a new addition to our farm, Fry! Our neighbors had one duck left, and he was lonely. They have seen our girls running around and living their best lives, so they asked if he could join them. I was hesitant at first, but he is not aggressive at all and just wants to be part of the family. They are all settling in nicely.

Have you ever taken a duck to the emergency vet? Today was a first for me, but this girl's foot has just not been getting better. Today during her epsom salt soak in the kitchen sink, I noticed a large bump on her foot that was hot to the touch. She has bumble foot. The Dr. took a minute to pull out the infection and said it looks to be very superficial and not down to her joint. So for the next week or so, Waddles is rehabbing in our basement. She will get daily Epsom salt soaks and some extra love and attention, even though she's not fond of being handled by us. She but me three times - she seemed mad when she did it but each was just a nibble. Maybe she'll like us a little more after this.

Poor Waddles has a bum foot. I thought it was getting better but it has gotten to where she can't even walk. So now she's getting to soak in a warm epsom salt bath and hopefully she'll let me look at it to see what's going on. Poor girl 😪
