Windy Knoll Farm Sells homegrown natural beef from home raised closed herd.

We are William and Anne McClain, and we have lived on our family farm in rural Fairbank, Iowa for the last 23 years. About 4 years ago, after being shocked at what is being added to and done with our food through processing plants, we decided to start raising Low Line cattle naturally.

Set up at the Independence Farmers Market. Limited stock. This will be the last market this year for Windy Knoll Farm. We won’t get to restock until November as we have sold both our August and September beef.🥩 It’s been a great year and we look forward to returning next year. A close call today. The lithium battery on my Milwaukee grease gun shorted out and started our shop on fire. Thinking about getting a flammables cabinet to keep the chargers and the batteries in so this doesn’t happen again. A big thank you to the Fairbank and Oran Firefighters for the quick response. It could have been much worse.

Hot Hot Hot. But no matter how hot, the hay still needs to be baled. Short afternoon, and another 35 bales added. Cows will be eating good this coming year! While the ole 1066 came with factory air, it hasn’t worked in several years. More hay ground now, definitely thinking about a retrofit kit and getting air in it for next year!
