One more time this year, it’s the Argonaut! Fresh Oysters, Lobster Rolls, Crab Rolls, Shrimp Rolls, Seafood Salad, and a special on Take n’ Bake Boils!

If you haven’t had The Argonaut’s Seafood, you need to! They’ve been able to keep their prices consistent since the first time they came years ago, even though they continue to use the most fresh, flown-in seafood you’ll find literally anywhere! Taste the difference, you’ll see for yourself!

They’ll be here on Saturday, and the pre-order link is in our Bio! Definitely suggest pre-ordering, as they usually sell out, but even if not, leftovers aren’t a thing in fresh seafood, so they can’t bring much extra! 1-7pm Saturday.

Sunday is the Bags & Brews event hosted by Project Fire Buddies! A bags tournament with big payouts, prizes, a silent auction, and don’t forget, our collaboration beer, now in bottles with custom labels! It all happens on Sunday - see our stories for more details!

Tonight is looking wonderful. Live Music (no cover and bring your lawn chairs if you want! BBQ and fresh Brews in the Taproom and the Tapshack Bar. Plus, great weather. It’s rare for this many stars to align!

Tapshack Bar includes: Huey, Snacks Before Dawn, Topsoil, and Center Cut, plus cider and mead cans!

We’re so excited to say that JJI Rye Amber Lager received a score of 90, defined as “Exceptional Distinguished beers with special character, style, and flavor” from Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine, our industry’s most well-respected publication, and their blind tasting panel.

We’re especially excited because this beer is brewed with Rye from right here in Fairbury. A special thank-you to our relatives Jim, Julie, and Josh Ifft of Fairbury for supplying the Rye for this beer. This also serves as a great reminder that Beer is an agricultural product made from grains and hops grown by real life farmers. As always, farming tends to be a thankless job… Not around here!

To celebrate, we’ve put one of our last kegs of this same batch on tap, and we have a limited amount of cans of it remaining! Pair it with some food from Comfort Cookin’ food truck tonight, or tomorrow with live music in the evening and Woody & Bubba’s BBQ!

We’ll be saying “Prost!” Before you know it, and Kim has been working hard on our website, which has ALL the Barntoberfest details, including tickets to our Oktoberfest Tasting and Tales, a ticketed tasting with a talk about Beer, Oktoberfest, and more! It’ll be a chance to try all seven of the beers and learn some beer & Oktoberfest history for just $15! Saturday 9/12 at 1pm. Ticketed only!

We won’t include all the details here since it’s much easier to find everything on our website, but let’s just say that it’ll be a weekend filled with delicious beers, tasty themed food, accordion music, and lots of fun games!

Some grain closeups because today we brewed the LAST Barntoberfest beer! Any ideas which beer we brew for Barntoberfest that only takes a few weeks to make? It’s one of our favorites! All of our other Barntoberfest Beers have been slumbering away in their lagering tanks for weeks already!

This weekend is shaping up to be an awesome one, featuring Live Music & BBQ on Saturday with the band Zamir and Woody & Bubba’s BBQ! Plus, the forecast is looking like absolute perfection for once!

But, don’t overlook Friday, which is the long awaited return on Comfort Cookin’ Food Truck!

And on Thursday, Kent Casson returns for the first live show at Emancipation!

Then on Sunday, don’t forget that we have expanded hours! 1-7pm every Sunday!

We hate spending money on boring stuff - every small business does! But like your pillow, your mattress, or a good pair of shoes, our tables get used constantly! Nearly 8 years ago, we asked our friend Kyler to make some tables on the tightest budget possible. He over delivered and those tables have lasted us so well! But like all things, they wear over time, the finish is getting sticky, and they’re needing to be replaced. So, we asked him to make us some new, nicer tables, now with no cracks for snacks to get caught in or spilled beer to drip through! It’s not glamorous, but it makes a real difference! We’ll be slowly replacing them, and we hope you enjoy them! We’ve now replaced three, with more to come!

We hope to see you soon to enjoy some table time with some fresh beers, delicious food by It’s Forkin’ Good, and a generally great time on this beautiful August day!

Barn Dance is BACK in cans, and soon on draft! This is our Festbier, a lighter (in color) lager that’s inspired by the beers served at modern Oktoberfests in Munich! We did plenty of “R&D” on this style last year when we visited Germany 😉

It’s a beautifully light golden color brewed with lots of German Malts and Hops, fermented cold with German Lager yeast! It’s always fun to compare this beer with Barn Bier, which is darker, more rich, and less hoppy than this one. We love both, and it’s not only personal preference which you may prefer, it might even be down to the weather, what food you’re enjoying them with, or how many you’re going to enjoy!

If you’re not sure you’ll like it, don’t forget that we recently added our “Create Your Own” mixed pack section, and you can take a single can home to enjoy, or make a mixed six to try a whole range of beers! A fun mixed pack would be 1/2 Barn Dance, 1/2 Barn Bier!

We know people have been asking about Pizza returning to the Brewery, and we still don’t really have an answer, except that tomorrow, Prohibition 309 Pizza out of Peoria will be here serving hand stretched pies with amazing ingredients! Then on Saturday, It’s Forkin’ Good!

Between the 150th Fairbury Fair this week, the release of both of our featured Oktoberfest beers, and two great food trucks this weekend, we’re feeling super festive!

There’s nothing more Midwest festive than a good Bags/Cornhole tournament, and we’ve got two of them in the next month! First on 9/6 is the 2nd Annual Bags and Brews, supporting Project Fire Buddies! Email Matt (email in picture) to donate items, become a sponsor, or sign up to play! Greeny’s Brats n’ Que will be serving food!

Next is part of our Barntoberfest! We’ve moved the 4th Annual Barntoberfest Bags & Brews to Sunday, 9/13, when we’ll have Pizza Payaa food truck, accordion music, and more! Sign up on our web store or shoot us an email or DM!

This weekend we’ve got two great food vendors on Friday and Saturday!

Friday: Prohibition 309 Pizza out of Peoria! Hand stretched dough with fresh toppings and some delicious apps and desserts! Serving 5-8pm

Saturday: It’s Forkin’ Good is back and they’re bringing their wildly popular chopped cheese fries special back! They’ll be serving 2-8pm!

Between all the local festivities and Fun at the Fair, join us for some drinks and delicious food! And while you’re at the Fair, visit the beer tent for a cold Emancipation Beer!
