Had to go Red Lobster and get the endless shrimp. They had 5 different types to order and I had one of each. My favorites in order were: garlic shrimp scampi, shrimp alfredo, Walt’s favorite, coconut, and “marry me.” Their Caesar salad (not pictured) is fantastic and the cheddar biscuits never disappoint.

This is a Portuguese dish called Arroz de Galinha. I made it for dinner and it was pretty easy to make. We had chicken, kalamata olives, sopressata, saffron, garlic, onion, and red bell pepper in it. The skillet of food is what I made, but I had AI create the table scene. It did a great job. I like the dish, but there are a few things I would change. I would take the sopressata and take the tough outter part off. The I would cube the sopressata. I think I would add more saffron when cooking the rice. I would also add Spanish paprika you the dish.

It was a table full of food Friday night, May 8th, from Carmine's Italian Restaurant - Washington DC. Normally you don't go here with less than 4 people, but this trio braved it. We had plenty of leftovers that were delicious the next day. We had rigitoni, chicken parm, porter house steak, ceaser salad, meatballs, and a chocolate torte.

Dim sum always hits the spot. The crispy roasted pig was perfect. I’m not a huge duck fan but the duck got rave reviews. The salt and pepper squid was my favorite as always. I prefer it a little on the salty side but it was still great. And the beef lo mein was excellent, which I don’t often say because often restaurants treat it as an afterthought. Not pictured: lots of small plates that were gobbled up before I could take a picture.

Now this is what I call an Ethiopian feast. I do love to go to Makeda Ethiopian Restaurant when I'm in the DC area. Incredibly bold flavors, a little spiciness, and the enjera is a perfect vehicle to enjoy it all.

Went to for the first time and enjoyed it. The highlight was definitely the shrimp scampi pizza with garlic butter, quattro formaggi, basil, old bay, and lemon juice. The crust was thin and the seasoning was perfect throughout. I also liked the limoncello mascarpone cake with passion fruit purée. The restaurant itself was spacious and comfortable, and I’m sure I’ll be back.

Went with a friend to for the first time and the flavors were very good. The squid ink bucatini with shrimp, crab butter, fennel sofrito, chiles, and breadcrumbs had a unique flavor profile and texture. The Caesar salad was different (in a good way) from most Caesar salads. The pistachio lemon cake with cherries was tasty and interesting but way too small for the price. I ate the whole thing in 3 small bites. I do plan to go back because they reimagine traditional dishes in new ways that bring a depth of flavor.

In NYC for a night and my cousin suggested this place. I got the chili-dusted tacos with jicama slaw, dill pickle, and lemon tartar sauce…the Mexican Coke short rib taco with pickled red onion, grilled corn, cotija cheese, and Mexican Coke gravy…Baja fish taco with jalapeño crema, pico, and cojita cheese…and Mexican street corn. Everything tasted really fresh. I loved the flavors and the textures of the dishes.

Yesterday was my weekly meal at The Oxbow and I have to say, it was phenomenal. The special dish of the week was a " Cod and Veggie Bake". This is a cod that is baked with potatoes, peas, and leeks, in a white wine and mustard sauce. It's topped with some buttery bread crumbs and baked in a cast iron skillet for one. Ask for a spoon because you are going to want every bit of this dish and the sauce.
I also took home one of the steak and potato pies fur lunch on Sunday. When it's ready bake, just put it in a 350 degree oven for about 30 to 40 minutes. Be sure to get the beef gravy the chef makes, trust me on this one. See the photos for more descriptions.
