Earlier this week was the big chicken migration from winter housing to summer pastures. We are thankful to .clooney and for welcoming the chickens on to their pastures for this season. It was a long haul 2 miles down the road to get to our first pasture, and 2 miles back to get the 2nd coop…and of course 2 miles back to the pasture for a 6 mile road sesh.

Then today was able to dodge around rain to get the coops restocked with grain and water so we can minimize traveling on the pasture with a wet week ahead. It’s always nerve-racking using this equipment for the first time in the spring but with some TLC everything worked and got the job done!

The old Chevy Astro van gets put to work every Friday delivering eggs and chicken to our store accounts and even to your doorstep if you order online through our web store. No egg is a week old and some were even laid today. Can’t beat that for freshness!

The waiting game of raising pullets…where we are at now and swipe ➡️ to see where we started when they arrived as day olds back in June.
So far getting 5 eggs a day out of 1300 but gotta start somewhere right!? 😂
