Don't worry if you are out in your garden rescuing it with a w**d eater. You are not the only one. After weeks of continuous rains it doesn't allow for much w**ding but boy do they grow. All the spring crops that were able to out compete the w**ds loved the cool rainy weather. But those direct seeded beds lost the battle to the w**ds and will get replanted next week once it dries out a little bit. Yes everything looks wilty today because it's water logged and getting some sun finally but it will perk up in a couple days.

Annaliese has always been by my side in the gardens since she was born. I got asked the other day if any of my kids have the "plant bug" like me? If any of them have a garden when they are older it will probably be her.
The broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage have definitely enjoyed our long spring this year. I harvested a bunch of broccoli raab for dinner because it won't like the upcoming warm days.

Growing figs is definitely not for the impatient. You watch and wait for something to change. Eventually your patience is rewarded. Last year I ate my first one in mid June. So that means I still have at least a month more of waiting.
