We‘re wrapping up the selling season but still have some fresh selections for you. This weekend’s limited edition offerings include:

White Sage: The most sacred variety for smudging. It’s native to rocky, sandy Northern California and needs protection from cold weather. You might consider training it as a houseplant with lots of light.

Sweet Potatoes: These vines love heat and poor (not overly fertilized), sandy, well drained soil. You could make a hill for them or plant one in a 5 gallon bucket with drain holes.

Orange Okra: Rare heirloom with deep orange fruit. Spineless. Pick at 3-4”.

Chocolate Beauty Pepper: Sweet bell pepper that can be eaten green or left to mature to a dark chocolate-purple color.

Brussels Sprouts: Sold in a 4 pack. This is a fall crop, so keep it protected from bugs and super hot sun if you can. It will reward you in September.

Last call for kale, cukamelons, cucumbers, and butternut squash.

These are freshly picked arnica flowers infusing in organic olive oil. I’m working on making a massage oil blend containing anti-inflammatory herbs harvested from the farm this week. Arnica flowers puff into seed formations like dandelions if dried too hot or for too long, so the trick to proper extraction is to do everything very quickly at low temperatures. I do have some puff on my first try here but I can tell this infusion will have medicinal qualities nonetheless.

Fresh offerings delivered to Everybody's Whole Foods this morning. It’s really starting to look like we planted a garden in the middle of Aisle 3.

New plants include:

Iroquois Melon: Heirloom cantaloupe bred for success in the Midwest. One of the first to offer downy mildew resistance. Orange fruits are medium sized, sweet, and flavorful.

Dark Star Zuchinni: Original variety from Seeds of Change. Dark green glossy fruits are best picked at 4-7”.

Chicago Pickler Cucumber: The most successful cucumber we grew last year. Healthy, easy, fast growing, extremely prolific.

Purple Tomatillo: A newfound favorite, fruits are incredible roasted but delicious raw too. Fruit blushes purple when mature.

St. John’s Wort: A medicinal herb whose flowers are used to elevate the spirits. Perennial. This flat of plants was placed in a crystal grid last night during a Vedic fire ceremony, it’s unknown if it will increase the herb’s effectiveness but you’ll get some spiritual bonus points free of charge with your purchase.

Last call for zuchetta, chard, kale, and orange butternut squash.
