Downsizing our herd!

Minnie is ready to breed this summer! The grandmother was Somerset Co. Grand Champ years ago (Shroyer ewe). We kept every ewe out of this line. Moderate ewe that should make an attentive mom! Good maternal instincts.

We were excited this weekend at the farm to unveil our plans for a series of FREE lamb showmanship clinics we will be hosting this show season. Anyone is welcome - you do not need to be a BCL customer - BUT you do need to be motivated to get better and ready to put in work.

If you’ve been to the farm this year, you know our verse for the year is Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33 (NLT). Our goal for this year is to keep that verse top of mind in all we do and be more intentional with those we encounter in any walk of life. We hope to gather with like minded individuals and focus on the positives the industry can offer as we grow and develop kids into young adults.

I’ve been silent lately and I’m behind on photos. I have a swollen knee so doing “all the things” to the lambs has been quite difficult. I did get a chance today to grab one and he has a rock solid brace! He is truly something special! Cross your fingers that they will all cooperate like this one lol 🤪. I’m quite pleased in our late December lambs!

Picture day is Monday! Stay tuned for some photos! We are selling out of the barn this year. If you’re interested in looking, let me know and I will put you on the list! Lambs will be weaned on 2/21.

Congratulations to Maria and Levi on their lamb projects at the 2025 Somerset Co. Market Lamb Show!

Maria was 2nd in class!

Levi was 1st in class and 5th overall lightweight division champion with Minnie and 3rd in class and 4th overall lightweight division champion with Loretta!

They both have lambs in the sale tomorrow. The sale starts at 10am!
