Did you know we offer guest farm & nature tours?

This is one of our guests’ favorite parts of staying at Fairhope Farm!

Guests are welcome to join us during morning or evening farm chores for a hands-on glimpse into our farm life. We also offer relaxed learning sessions where we share how we got started and offer guidance for those interested in starting a farm of their own.

Our tours are flexible, so you can choose what interests you most. Spend time visiting and feeding the animals, learn about the history of our property, take a guided nature walk, or explore the woods at your own pace.

Depending on the time of year, guests may also have the opportunity to feed our bottle babies or watch, and sometimes even help, with milking our family milk goat.

Interested in experiencing a little farm life during your stay? Book your stay with us and let us know what interests you!

Found in the pasture and rescued in August 2025. I thought we had lost them all to those orange caterpillars covered in black spikes (Gulf Fritillary caterpillars).

While Gulf Fritillary caterpillars may look intimidating, their black spikes are actually soft and harmless to people. These fascinating caterpillars eventually transform into the beautiful Gulf Fritillary butterfly, also known as the Passion Butterfly.

Did you know the Gulf Fritillary caterpillars like their fellow caterpillars, the bird p**p caterpillars (Swallowtail butterfly), emit a strong, slightly foul-smelling odor as a defensive mechanism when threatened?

This passion flower seems to enjoy a crowded pot. Sharing space with a couple of amaryllis (which also thrive when crowded) and a rose I thought was dead, it has turned this container into a surprise garden full of blooms.

Rain Rain and more Rain, but our plants are thriving.

Did you know that Fairhope Farm is home to five different varieties of ginger lilies?

These beauties grow so quickly and spread so vigorously that we often share them with our farm stay guests. When it's time to thin them out, we have to be very careful where we place the extras, we've even had them sprout and grow right on top of each other without any soil!

This is the stunning Curcuma Ban Rai Red, also known as the Red Torch Ginger.
