Fairhope Brewing Company's Fairhope Taproom and brewing facility are located at 914 Nichols Ave., just a block off Highway 98 in Fairhope, Ala., and less than five minutes from beautiful downtown. Our taproom, offering a comfortable atmosphere to meet up with friends and enjoy a variety of our hand-crafted beers, opens at 1:00 every day. The date was Friday, October 27, 1995. Mobile Mysticks franchise home opener at the Mobile Civic Center against the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks.

It was one day before the dreaded ACT standardized test. Our owner Brian was a junior in high school, and that all important test was on October 28.

Take it easy? Go to bed early? Hell no! He was at that franchise homer opener for the first ever Mobile hockey team. And to this day, he recalls the sequence of events: pick dropped, players skated for 3 seconds, major fight, crowd goes wild.

If he was not seated in the upper deck, he would have been banging on the glass! Does he recall the score he got on that ACT? Does it matter?

And now hockey has returned! And with the old school name! We know Brian cannot wait for that puck to drop again, but we assume he’ll pass on a re-take of the ACT this time around!
