A permaculture-grown Organic market garden serving Fairland and beyond
Our practices:
• We grow our food in polycultures on beds that have been built by hand on contour
• We compost on site from farm waste and food scraps
• We use organic seed and organic practices, we're registered with the Oklahoma Organic program
• Our annual crops are the understory of the future forest garden
• We utilize rainwater catchment for use with our crops
• We’re planning out a native prairie/butterfly buffer around our site, and let milkweed grow wherever it comes up

Honor Farmer's Contracts Act!!! It's ridiculous that farmers would sign a contract with the federal government about work they'll do and money they'll put up front, and the government just says "Nah, we don't care anymore"
The growing number of young farmers has been a bright spot in the agricultural landscape. The commitment you're making is not an easy one.

Call out for people who can call their reps and senators today: the organic cost share program is on the chopping block right now. It costs me hundreds of dollars each year to certify both crops and dried herbs, but the farm service agency reimburses some of that at the end of the year. It’s a way of the federal government saying thank you for managing land that’s healthy for your neighbors, we know these fees are a pain, and we hope this makes it easier to choose to go organic.
In other words, it’s important
So much for republicans caring about organic farms

Our food grows in polycultures on beds built by hand on contour
Fertility comes from deep composting pathways-to-beds, cover crops, and low tillage

Our vegetable crops are the understory of fruit and medicinal forest gardens
We plant native prairie/butterfly swaths and let milkweed grow
We are compliant with both Organic and Naturally Grown practices, but not certified (due to the cost of doing so at such small scale). We are part of Oklahoma’s Organic Program.
