Bar JV Angus

Bar JV Angus At Bar JV Angus we focus on breeding superior registered Angus females who produce high performance bulls Bar JV Angus is a family run operation.

It is operated by Jim and Loretta Vitt along with Dale and Jill Vitt and their children Cody, Emily and Kendal. The ranch is located in the Sioux Pass Community which is half way between Sidney and Culbertson on highway 16. Our registered herd was started in 1975 when Loretta Denowh married Jim Vitt And brought her 4-H cow and calf with her. Our operation now consists of 325 registered cows and 10

0 commercial cows along with raising spring wheat. We also raise oats, millet and grass hay to feed our cattle. Our focus is on the mother cow. Our philosophy is that if you breed for a good cow she will raise good bulls. We strive to raise moderate framed cattle that have good feet and bone and are structurally correct. Good dispositions and udder quality are top priorities for us. We select for balanced traits; we never chase a single trait. We want our cows to be able to take care of themselves. Our cows graze until the weather forces us to feed. In the winter we feed alfalfa and grass hay along with beet pulp and corn silage. The cows start calving March 10th . This allows most of our herd to calve out in the pasture unassisted.
