If anyone close to me would like to pick up some Black Strawberry Tomato starts, I have about 12 extra. They are a 60 day variety and are perfectly balanced sweet and tart. Best eaten fresh off the plant. And pretty too!

Here is an update on some of the plant starts that I had posted about a little bit ago. "Gin" is still my favorite plant (ginger). And yes I name my plants. The peppers are called "the spice girls."

Remember I said I only need a few? Well, germination went well. So if anyone in the area would like some, I am currently in need of a few onions or onion seeds. I would love to trade so we can insure local healthy food for our community. If there is something else you'd like, let me know. I love to grow stuff and can maybe grow something for you!

My answer to the weather? Big pot of chili and a loaf of fresh baked bread. Interesting note, we no longer buy bread from grocery stores. I have a simple and versatile white bread recipe that also works for buns, and frequently make fry bread, biscuits, and dumplings. Not only is it better quality and more filling, but also cheaper than store bought.

Planted these today. I think about 20 total. Again, I only actually need say 5. Also, I am testing transplanting my lettuce. I'm not sure it's big enough yet.

Planted 20 of these. If they all germinate, well, I only need five plants. We'll see what happens!

This is the sweet potato that I planted. I had seen that each one of those is a separate slip that I can get to root and grow another plant. I hope it works, I love sweet potatoes!

My Rocky Top lettuce has sprouted! Took about a week to sprout. I'll plant more soon but can't wait for them to grow.

This is an old piece of Ginger root that got put in a bag in the cabinet and forgotten about. This little piece was soft and rubbery and I I figured I'd put it in water and hope for the best. Well, it lived. And look how pretty!
