A little over a year ago, I began working on a very cool project, the MVP2.0. This is a really awesome grant given to the town to help make our community members more resilient to major weather events.
So far, we've given out approximately 400 Weather Resiliency Kits to members of our community to assist them to be more resilient before/during and after a major weather event.
If you are a Westporter (Massachusetts) who feel a kit would assist you in being more resilient, please send me a DM or contact the Town Planner to make arrangements to get a kit (while kits are available).

Westport Food Pantry was very excited to be able to help give our clients the wonderful Westport Weather Resiliency Kits that Westport Municipal Vulnerability Plan 2.0 put together to help those in need in the event of a weather emergency. These kits, reflect the input from local surveys of the items that would be most helpful in the event of a weather emergency. Each kit includes an Emergency Radio (that has battery, hand crank and solar recharging capabilities and a USB port), an emergency Whistle, an emergency Blanket, a fire and waterproof document bag, a basic first aid kit, a USB Fan, an instant hot pack, an instant cold pack, a small multi tool, a weather emergency preparedness booklet full of great information and a weather resilience checklist. If you'd like information on making an emergency kit of your own, the booklet is full of great ideas of what to include.
