We hit a bit of gold today or should I say California gold! The well is at depth and making great water!!
The well depth ended up being at 870’ and it looks like from the testing done onsite will produce 80 GPM.

Yesterday afternoon we received and set the second 6,000 gallon water storage tank. This tank will tie into the primary water storage tank and pumping system through a equalizer line and a common water supply line from the well.

Started some of the preparations for the Catuai Roja coffee that we will be planting in May. Five feet between rows and six foot spacing between coffee trees. 25 down and 675 to go for this coffee variety!

I thought I would post a few more photos of trees we recently planted. These three trees are mango trees each one is a different variety of Mango with all three having a bit of difference in their origin. The Mango on the left is a Vietnamese variety ( Thanh Ca ), the Mango in the middle is a Israeli variety (Shelly) and the Mango on the right is a Indian Variety ( Ratnagiri ). All three trees will grow extremely fast and quite large up to 100 feet tall, fruit production should start in about two years.

What would be a farm without water?
Here we are in the beginning stages of the water storage, pumping system and fertilization equipment that receives water from the properties well. When the system is complete it will have the means to store 12,000 gallons of water and have the pumping capacity of 95 gallons per minute, once completed we will post some videos of the operation and testing of system throughout the property.(( I’m personally really excited about this system, design and engineering a system is always lots of fun))

Here are some new rows we put in on a 1/4 acre a couple of weeks ago these rows will be planted with 300 Giesha coffee trees, Geisha coffee trees grow well in a environment that has reinforced wind breaks, ample shade but still receives infused sun light. The lower part of the perimeter will be enclosed with GEM Avocados in late May. This part of the property will make for a great area for Geisha to flourish!!

Been working on mowing some of the rows on the property this weekend. We will see if mowing stays feasible in the future with white clovers growth rate being so rapid..
Beginning in the Month of April we will start drilling out holes on top of the rows for the Coffee Trees that will be arriving in May.

Newly planted Avocado trees are doing very well in spite of the weather we’ve been having the last few weeks. Trees were planted February 17th and 18th.

Meyer Lemon trees flowering and starting to put on some fruit. Six trees on the property planted in August of 2022.

Here are some photos of white clover that we’ve planted and have been growing throughout the property. White Clover is a perennial ground cover that builds nitrogen in the ground and helps retain soil moisture.
