🐷 Eleven New Little Lives at Kruger Farms! 🐷

Our youngest gilt became a first-time mama on Tuesday, August 25—and she surprised us with 11 beautiful piglets! ❤️

Every one of them is healthy, active and doing wonderfully. This video follows their first precious days, from delivery and those wobbly first steps to learning how to eat and explore their new world.

Both mama and daddy have wonderfully sweet dispositions. Combined with the quality genetics we work hard to maintain, we believe these babies could grow into excellent additions to other farms and future breeding programs.

🌱 Early farm-placement reservations are now being accepted, with special consideration for those who reserve early. Piglets may move to their new farms at seven weeks old. Placement amounts will increase after that pickup week.

Please note: We will not be offering a grow-out option for this litter.

🥩 For families interested in filling their freezers, we still have room connected to two older grow-out pigs—enough for two whole-pig owners or up to four half-pig co-owners—for our December 2, 2026 processing date. Just in time for holiday hams! 🎄🍖

Kruger Farms transfers live pigs only. Processing is optional and takes place after ownership has transferred. The scheduled slaughter professional and butcher are paid directly by the pigs’ owners, and the butcher contacts each owner to discuss cuts and packaging.

The larger piglets shown in the video are from our previous litter and offer a little glimpse of how beautifully this cross grows.

And yes—we ended the video with a butcher slicing pork and the word “Delicious,” because we raise our pigs with two goals in mind: quality genetics for the farm and seriously yum-yum pork for the freezer! 🐷😋

🐷 Two little ladies are looking for their next farm! 🌱

Someone unexpectedly backed out of picking up two of our gilts, which has created a wonderful opportunity for someone else.

Born May 4, 2026, these Duroc × Berkshire × Hampshire gilts could make excellent additions to another farm’s breeding program—or provide an opportunity for two families to participate in our limited annual grow-out and fill their freezers with quality, farm-raised pork.

We love this cross for a reason:

❤️ Duroc for growth, hardiness, and beautiful marbling
🖤 Berkshire for exceptional meat quality and rich flavor
🤍 Hampshire for strong structure, efficiency, and balanced growth

We offer only a limited number of grow-out pigs each year. This year’s processing day is already scheduled for December 2, 2026. For anyone choosing that option, the slaughter professional and butcher appointments are already reserved.

Kruger Farms offers live pigs only. Ownership of the pig transfers to its new owner before processing. New owners may choose to participate in our scheduled processing day, pay the slaughter professional and butcher directly, speak with the butcher about their preferred cuts and packaging, and pick up their finished pork directly from the butcher. We simply coordinate the appointments to make the process easier.

Of course, processing is optional. These girls also have the genetics and potential to become wonderful additions to a breeding program.

We are intentional about the pigs we raise. Every breeding decision has a purpose—from the genetics we choose to the care each animal receives. We want healthy, fast-growing pigs with excellent structure, beautiful marbling, and seriously yum-yum pork. 🐷😋

🐛🌱 One farm project... two big benefits.

One of our favorite sustainable projects on the farm is raising our own mealworms.

Not only do they provide a nutritious, high-protein treat that our chickens, turkeys, guineas, and ducks absolutely love, but they also give us something just as valuable—mealworm frass, a fantastic natural fertilizer for our garden and orchard.

🌾 Farm Fun Fact: Mealworm frass is the nutrient-rich material left behind after raising mealworms. It's packed with organic matter and beneficial nutrients that help improve soil health and support healthy plant growth.

Around here, we believe the best farm systems are the ones where everything has a purpose. The mealworms help feed our poultry, and their frass helps feed the plants that will eventually feed us. It's a simple, sustainable cycle that keeps giving back.

🐷 Last little lady looking for her next farm. 🌱

This 10-week-old Duroc × Berkshire × Hampshire gilt is the last one available from her litter, and she is a special one.

We are very intentional about the pigs we raise. When choosing our genetics, we wanted animals that gave the most "bang for the buck"—healthy, fast-growing pigs with excellent meat quality and incredible flavor.

This cross brings together some amazing traits:

The last hatch of the season is officially underway! 🥚🐣

Our smallest incubator is filled with Heritage Narragansett and Standard Bronze turkey eggs, along with a small group of F2 Olive Egger chicken eggs.

🌾 Farm Fun Fact: We intentionally hatch chicks alongside our turkey poults. Turkey poults are incredibly fragile and don't always know how to find food and water after they hatch. The chicks become their little teachers, showing them how to eat, drink, and thrive during those critical first days of life. 🐥❤️

Because chickens and turkeys have different incubation periods, every hatch has to be carefully planned so they all hatch at just the right time.

The heritage turkey poults will be staying here on the farm as we continue building our breeding program, while the Olive Egger chicks will be looking for new coops a few days after they hatch.

Here's to one final hatch and a healthy group of babies to wrap up the season! 💙🐣

Fresh arrivals are here! ❤️🐣

These little fluff balls may only be a day old, but they already have an important job waiting for them.

Yesterday they hatched. Today they arrived at the farm. In a few short months, they'll become the next generation of our French Guinea Fowl breeding flock.

Our last flock gave everything protecting this farm. While losing them was incredibly hard, that's exactly what guineas do—they're fearless guardians, always watching over the livestock and sounding the alarm whenever something isn't right.

They're incredible for natural pest control, happily hunting ticks and insects, and they're even known to take on rattlesnakes. Loud? Absolutely. Full of personality? Without a doubt. But they're also one of the hardest-working birds you can have on a farm.

Every farm has its protectors. Ours just happen to have feathers.

These little ones have some big footsteps to follow, and we can't wait to watch them grow into the next generation of guardians.

🐐 Another farm adjustment for 2026! 🐐

One of the realities of responsible breeding is knowing when it's time to make changes. Since we've retained so many of our buck Hennessy's daughters it was time to bring in some new genetics for our herd.

Yesterday, we welcomed our new buckling to Kruger Farms! Meet Jameson — a purebred Nigerian Dwarf born on 12/28/25. ❤️ Hennessy set the bar pretty high around here, so we decided to keep the good spirits flowing and named our new buckling Jameson. We can't wait to watch him grow and become part of our breeding program.

As Jameson settles in, Hennessy is officially looking for new pastures. He's a proven 4-year-old Nigerian Dwarf buck who has produced beautiful kids for us year after year. He has a wonderful disposition, loves ear rubs, enjoys treats, and is easy to work around.

We also have three of Hennessy's sons available (Teddy & Archer DOB 2/13/25, and Ian, DOB 6/25/25) and looking for new herds. Like their sire, they're all sweet boys with great personalities.

Some days on the farm are harder than others.
This past week, we experienced a devastating coyote attack and lost most of the hens in our laying flock. It was a heartbreaking loss and a difficult reminder that farm life comes with challenges, even when you do everything possible to protect your animals.
But farming is also about resilience, and today brings a fresh start.
These little chicks hatched just yesterday at Hillside Hatchery/Freedom Ranger Hatchery in Pennsylvania and arrived here at Kruger Farms after an overnight journey. In more than 20 years of raising poultry, this is honestly one of the healthiest shipments of chicks we've ever received. They arrived active, alert, and ready to take on the world.
Our new flock includes:
🐣 Ash Eggers – Reliable layers of beautiful medium brown eggs.
🐣 Chocolate Eggers – Known for laying rich, dark brown eggs that stand out in any egg basket.
🐣 Easter Eggers – Friendly birds that lay a variety of colorful eggs, including shades of blue and green.
🐣 Olive Eggers – Popular for their unique olive-green eggs and excellent laying ability.
While we're still grieving the loss of our hens, these little ones bring hope for the future. In the months ahead, they'll help rebuild our flock and fill our egg baskets with a beautiful rainbow of colors once again.
For now, they're settling in, staying warm, and enjoying their first day on the farm. ❤️🐥

Nothing but a pile of sleepy piglets and one happy mama enjoying a lazy summer day at Kruger Farms.

These quiet moments are a reminder that happy pigs are healthy pigs. ❤️🐖
