It’s official. The submission is in. 48 Blocks Fine Candy has formally entered the Garden & Gun Made in the South Awards.

Taking a leap of faith like this is a deeply personal milestone. 48 Blocks was born out of a desire to honor classic candymaking techniques while telling a completely new story—one rooted in global travel, deep cultural lineages, and flavor arbitrage.

When you enjoy our confections, you are experiencing a completely hand-poured, hand-finished, and hand-packed process. From partnering with local collaborators to hand-cutting every single piece in our Northern Virginia studio, this business is a labor of intense love and precision.

The studio just got a lot more analytical. Today, we officially welcome our summer interns to the team. 👋✨

While our artisan curation remains a hands-on art, our upcoming summer campaigns require a level of social media management that our Principal Curator would frankly rather avoid. Don't get it twisted—she actually loves a deep dive into data analytics and market metrics, but she has a profound disdain for feeding the performative social media beast.

We will be introducing them to you virtually over the coming days, but you can meet them IRL at our Makers Matinee on June 13. Mark your calendars, because this is our final in-studio pop-up before we "go dark" for our highly anticipated brand redesign.
