We're returning June 19-21 with the most delicious, immersive on-farm women's homestead retreat: NOURISH.

We’ll be learning and experiencing homesteading skills that have disappeared from most kitchens (variety of bone broths, wild fermented foraged vinegars, nutrient-dense snacks, vegetable ferments and more!), creating rhythms around what nourishes you personally most to implement at home, connecting with other women while eating the most delicious foods, foraging and spending hands-on time on the farm. ⁣

It is a weekend to reconnect with those skills that nurture you and allow you to thrive.⁣

Come spend the weekend with us by checking out the retreat page (beavertidesfarm.com/nourish) and sign up soon to make use of the early bird price! See less

Sign-ups for NOURISH 2026 are open NOW!⁣

I still find myself thinking about NOURISH 2025 all the time, the connection between women, the long conversations, the joy of foraging together, the long table full of Tracy's incredible food, the time in the pasture together, the circle of women around the kitchen table cooking and chatting and laughing.. ⁣

It was an experience that fuels me to this day. ⁣

And this summer solstice (June 19-21) we’ll be back with another weekend of homesteading skills, creating rhythms around what nourishes you most, connecting with other women all while eating the most delicious foods, foraging and spending hands-on time on the farm. ⁣⁣

Go to beavertidesfarm.com/nourish and reserve your spot!⁣

Spring is bursting and so am I. With each year on the farm it seems like I’m digging deeper into the seasons and surrender with more and more ease. This past winter was one of my best lived winters yet, not resisting the need to move inward, rest. ⁣

There was very little impulse to share online, to make plans and prepare the next move. The only plans I managed to make were ice skating parties with neighbors on the farm, or skiing-behind-a-pony with our boys. That and lots of warming stews, falling back on recipes I can make with my eyes closed, early bedtime and 3 pairs of wool layers wherever I’d go. ⁣

But now spring is here and I feel it like the potatoes growing spurs in the pantry. I’m in need of expansion. We’re planting trees every free afternoon, I’ve started more seeds than is reasonable, and most days we’re up to our ears in soil by midmorning. The rabbits had their first litter of babies, the sheep are about to pop and I’m stepping into my farm midwife boots with mid-April eagerness. The grass is greener every afternoon than it was in the morning, even on days that start with frozen dew.⁣

I plan and plot, not usually focussing on what needs most attention (Work on taxes! Clean the house! Write a sales email!), but surely on what spring is urging the potatoes, the rabbits, the seeds and the grass to do. And so I obey, and turn outward, towards the light and people and let myself be swallowed by April.
