What is the deal with Fox sports audio? Is it me? My equipment? Oh my God I had to mute the sound of the game tonight it’s so bad. Really can’t hear anything the announcers are saying. Everything seems so out of balance. It’s been bad all season, seems even worse tonight.

There’s nothing that brings back memories of Christmas 1998 like the Furby song by Stevie and the Satellites. People were going crazy, trying to find a Furby for their kids. I do my best try at Bruce Springsteen and listen to the list of stores in the lyrics some of which are no longer with us.

We welcome Christmas this year with a few Stevie and the Satellites Holiday tunes. We begin with the all time classic Hairy Christmas featuring Annie B and myself and the many woes of the hairy man during Christmas

The latest Lunch with Steve and Maynard podcast episode featuring broadcast legend Johnny Holliday is now available at therealsteverouse.com or wherever you get you podcasts. In this clip, after sharing how I felt when Johnny called our show back in the day to say how much he enjoyed listening, he shared how he received similar treatment himself.

We were in Pikesville a couple of days ago and stopped into one of our sponsors, Mitchell's Jewelers. This short video will give you a sense of Mitchell and his wife Lisa and their family business. It's a good time of year for you guys to visit too. Plus there's a great bagel place next door!
Also...as an added bonus you can turn the video into a drinking game. Here's how it works, every time I say "Very Cool" take a drink and good luck

First, we want to wish everyone a happy Veterans Day and a huge salute to all of our incredible Veterans who have served our country! Thank you!
We're also excited to welcome a new partner/sponsor to our Real Steve Rouse and Lunch with Steve and Maynard podcast family. Bay Imagery has been Baltimore's leader in high resolution large format digital printing for over 30 years! When it comes to digital printing, laminating, mounting, cutting and display products, Bay Imagery does it all. I've included pictures of a couple of things Bay Imagery did for us when we had the farm. Banners, metal signs and large road signs helped us bring in business. They also brought over this 3 x 4 foot giant Baltimore Magazine cover with the article about the farm that was inside that edition. These are a few things they did for us, what can they do for you? Check them out at bayimagery.com

Picked the last of the tomatoes in the garden today and was thinking this is quite late for Tomatoes to even still be around. So I got out the old Rousedale Farm blog and checked a few years and when we stopped having tomatoes in the farm market for sale. One post was the end of September. Another post was October 10. I didn’t look at every year to check, but pretty sure we never had tomatoes to sell in our farm market in November before. Do you still have tomatoes? When did yours peter out? Having tomatoes in November is unusual right?

Join Maynard and me Wednesday as we record another episode of the Lunch with Steve and Maynard podcast. We will again be taking advantage of the Boumi Temple’s delicious $5 lunch Wednesday November 5 at noon with our guest Dan Rodricks! Dan, sometimes called “The Conscience of Baltimore” was an award winning columnist for the Baltimore Sun. His column is believed to have been the longest running local column in America.
Dan also worked in radio and TV. His highly popular “Rodricks for Breakfast” show ran for 5 years on WMAR-TV. He had a 13 year stint on WBAL-TV, hosted talk shows on WBAL-radio and WYPR. His radio documentaries have won many prestigious awards. He’s hosted a podcast, written books, and now is writing plays about his adopted hometown of Baltimore. But wait, there’s more and we’ll talk all about it Wednesday at noon. Lunch is open to the public. Hope to see you there!!
