It is with much regret that the decision was made by the board of directors and executive officers late yesterday evening to cancel the show on Oct 19th. As many know we all reside in Florida and many of our show staff were hit pretty hard from this most recent hurricane and the one prior. Several do not have power yet and most are trying to access and fix both coop and property damage. Some have been called away to work as part of various emergency response teams to help impacted areas. With all this in mind, as well as the losses and devastation we know, and have heard, many of our exhibitors are facing combined with the possibility of another storm (while not looking likely) the hard decision was made to cancel our Fall 2024 show.
Every exhibitor who has an email on file with the club will also be receiving this via email today. We will be reaching out to those that do not by phone. All monies will be refunded via paypal later today to exhibitors. No checks or money orders have been cashed so those can either be sent back or destroyed here, but will not be cashed. For those that sent checks or money orders we will be reaching out separately. This is a lot of work so your patience is appreciated and all paypals can be expected to be refunded by Sunday evening at the very latest.
This was not a quick or easy decision. We know it is disappointing and we can assure you it is even more so for us. These shows start planning, and work begins months in advance. We are not only show staff, but exhibitors as well so look forward to a good show as much as anyone! We ask for understanding, while many made it thru with little to no damage there are many who had their lives severely impacted by these storms and are working around the clock to save homes, farms, animals, and properties.
We have reached out to the show hall to see possible dates for another, possible spring, show and that will be discussed as we can and at this time is TBD. We will have our 2025 fall show, same location and work has already begun.
We thank everyone for their understanding and our hearts are with all those impacted by these storms.
