Thank you so much to everyone who came out for our very first U-pick night!

As someone said, these just make me so happy when sharing their bouquet, I couldn’t help but smile.

That was the point.

I started the flowers at a spot in my life where I was looking for more joy, more color, more whimsey, just more peace and less perfection. A place where I needed to slow down and enjoy the butterflies stopping at each flower, notice a dew drop hanging off a petal, listen for the hum of a bee or simply appreciate the gorgeous blooms that put on a show every summer.

I wanted others to have that too.

I sincerely hope you enjoyed walking in the flowers and creating your own dose of joy to bring home. So grateful you all let me share our farm with you. ❤️🌸

The annual pet parade is one of our favorite summer events!

This year’s theme was “Through the Decades” so a 70’s hippie vibe ✌🏼 seemed fitting!

If only I could hear what the other sheep were saying when Violet and Fern returned to the barn tie-dyed! 😂

The flowers are showing off just in time for tomorrow night! ❤️❤️

Meet Razzy.

Razzy is our 30 something rescue horse who is living out her best life in her last summer on the farm.

Razzy was my wedding gift. I had wanted a horse since I was little. My dad always said no. Hay burners.
We found her from a rescue up north of the cities. Our friend Kacy, let us board her until we could bring her to our own farm.
She quickly became Miss Razzle Dazzle there and that has stuck with her as she frequently gets adorned with glitter on the farm.

The vet estimated her around 20-24 years old then. But 20 was good for someone building up their confidence with horses.

She became a fixture of the farm. Letting little Harper ride her ba****ck or just lounge on her. Glittering her became a favorite activity. Along with all the treats. Brush outs were a form of relaxation.

About 2.5 years ago Razzy was diagnosed with Cushings. Cushings is kind of a death sentence for horses. We opted to try pergolide - a medicine that costs us a little over $2 a day. But when your kiddos love her and she’s just living her best life, you do what you need to do.

We didn’t think she would make it through this last winter. Her heart murmur went to a grade 3 this past year. Simply, her heart is just wearing out for a very senior horse.

We upped her feed. Triple crown senior feed. Turned it into a mash every morning along with alfalfa because a senior horse also doesn’t have a lot of teeth left.

But she’s just tired.

Even though she will loudly let you know when you’re late with her feed. If she see’s another horse on a ride on our road, she will go running and neighing to them.

We have been saying just get to September for a while now. She’s been with us for 14 years.

So when you see her in the pasture, know she’s just a very old lady enjoying her very last Minnesota summer and lots of apple treats from little kids.
