When you purchase chicks from us, you're not simply paying for the chick itself, you're paying for the care, experience and preparation that has gone into giving that chick the best possible start.
Before our chicks are offered, they are:
โข Incubated and hatched in clean, carefully managed incubators
โข Individually checked after hatching
โข Vaccinated against coccidiosis by eye drop at day old
โข Clearly identified and leg banded
โข Kept in thoroughly cleaned and sanitised brooders
โข Raised on quality, unmedicated starter feed that is suitable for vaccinated chicks
โข Provided with appropriate warmth, new fresh bedding and particle filtered, UV sterilised water
โข Closely monitored for eating, drinking, activity and overall wellbeing
โข Assessed again before leaving with their new families
Our brooders are completely emptied, cleaned and sanitised between every group of chicks, not simply tipped out and topped up with fresh bedding. We also maintain strict biosecurity procedures to help protect every bird in our care.
Just as importantly, your support doesn't end when you walk out the door. Every purchase comes with knowledgeable advice about brooder setup, warmth, feeding and ongoing care, and we encourage customers to send us photos of their setup so we can cast an experienced eye over it.
As a boutique poultry specialist, we take enormous pride in raising healthy, well bred chicks and supporting the families who take them home. That level of care takes considerable time and effort-but we believe these little lives are worth doing properly.
