10:30 Saturday morning...the new crop of trees are all in the ground. Sue and I filled all the spots in the field. We are now at 100%. Now we could use rain about every 10 days from now till September! These trees will be ready in 2035!

Tree planting time is here! This is what 500 trees in their boxes looks like. A lot got planted today; hopefully the rest will be planted tomorrow before the evening rain.

The trees come from a great nursery in southern Michigan.

Now we need some good heavy rain every two weeks from now till September, and not too hot summer.

Exactly two weeks ago the field and tree shed were covered in the deep snow. Tuesday I ground all of the stumps in a t shirt and got a sunburn. Today I raked in all of the holes in a sweatshirt. Tomorrow I will be back to winter gear. Springtime in NJ! And next week I will be planting the new trees. "The life of a small farm/farmer."

We still have a snow pile in the driveway, but today it was 82 and sunny. That means STUMP GRINDING 2026! We usually get this done in mid-February, but the snow and cold got in the way. We did about 175 stumps today in 7 hours! Now the hard part...raking all of the chips and soil back into the holes. That will get done on the weekend when it is cooler.

Hopefully the new tree planting will happen soon. And lots of rain! And pruning continues year round.

Happy New Year 2026 everyone. We hope you enjoyed your special tree. Here at the farm, we have been cleaning up and pruning trees! To insure beautiful trees, they need constant care.

Stump grinding will happen in a few weeks, then new tree planting soon after.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall. Josh and Sue, and the great tree cutters.

We are now officially closed for the 2025 season. The cleanup is already underway. Stump removal happens in February, and planting is in March.

The snow is all gone, and the ground dried out nicely with all of the wind. Tomorrow, Sunday, I will be cleaning up from the season. If anyone still needs a tree, come on by between 9 am and noon. Cash only please. We have lots of beautiful trees growing in the field. What trees are left are growing for future years.

Final tagged tree got picked up today. And as the rain ended, this partial rainbow appeared.

If you still need a tree, call us. We can open Sunday morning for a few hours if needed. But it will be cash only, and only for trees I can handle. I will be by myself cleaning up from the season.

What a difference a few hours makes! 2:30 today, sunshine, blue sky, and the snow is done. We ended up with 9" of snow in the field. And now we are starting to get small drifts from the wind.

We thank everyone who supported our small family farm this year and in the past. We take great pride in providing great trees and friendly service. Josh and Sue and our outstanding crew.

UPDATE: We will be CLOSED today! Too much snow everywhere. I am plowing the driveway, and it is deep and heavy. We thank everyone who has gotten their tree this year. Enjoy staying inside watching football.

Snowy Sunday Morning: We will open around 11 AM today and close around 3 PM. We need time to clean up the snow into the farm and parking area. The snow should be ending around 11. And the roads should be cleaned up by then. Still, take it slow if driving, and be safe.

The field will look like a winter wonderland. If you are coming, bring you cameras!

Today is also our final day open. We have lots of trees to pick from.
