🌱 Hale Family Farm Update 🌱

First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who signed up for weekly produce boxes this year! Your support means everything, and we’re so excited to grow with you this season.

Spring brought some tough weather—strong winds damaged two of our growing tunnels, and a weekend downpour (9 inches of rain!) washed out our first plantings of spinach and lettuce. But we’ve already replanted and are getting back on track. While the season may start a couple of weeks later than expected, rest assured you’ll still receive all the boxes you signed up for.

Also—come see us this Saturday at the Farmers Market! We’ll have a great selection of plant starts for your own garden.

Thank you for rooting for local farms. We’ll keep you posted as the season unfolds! 💚

Important Update: Chick Preorders Delayed Due to Severe Weather

We had planned to open online preorders for baby chicks tonight at 8 PM, but due to a significant tornado threat, we are locking down the farm and sheltering offsite by 6 PM. We may lose internet access and won’t be able to process orders as planned.

We sincerely apologize to those who were counting on preordering. As of now, we still plan to open for first-come, first-serve sales at the farm tomorrow (Saturday) at noon—assuming all goes well tonight.

If you're in the Farmington area, please take this storm seriously and stay safe. We'll post updates as soon as we're able.

Severe Weather Reminder – Stay Safe, Farmington

With storms in the forecast tonight, we’re reminded of the last tornado that hit our farm in 2021. These photos show just how powerful these storms can be.

Please stay weather-aware, have a plan, and take warnings seriously. We’re locking down the farm and sheltering offsite by 6pm tonight (March 14, 2025)—hope to see everyone safe and well tomorrow.

🐔 A Flock Built by Nature
For six years, we’ve been working to build a flock that belongs in the Ozarks—one that doesn’t just survive, but thrives.

Each year, we select the strongest and smartest birds—those that:
✅ Withstand extreme heat & subzero cold ❄️☀️
✅ Evade predators & work together to stay safe 🦊🚫
✅ Lay a rainbow of gorgeous eggs 🌈🥚

The result? A hardy, beautiful, predator-savvy flock that’s as tough as it is stunning.
