Ta-da! ✨🤗
The Great Goat Lot Redo of 2026

Through this past winter the build up of organic material got pretty bad. The high traffic areas needed more help than I was physically capable of doing. Trust me, I tried! Trailer load, after wagon load, after trailer load and I barely made a dent.

I was stressing hard about the condition and every spring rain brought on more anxiety. I was finally able to hire a contractor to excavate the muddy footing, regrade and put down stone dust.

I’m so, so happy to say it’s been a game changer. As you can see, the herd loves it too. 🥹💚

It should compact more over time to easily rake up waste, but even now it’s a breeze to walk around with my little scoop and keep things tidy!

I keep waffling on this, but I have to make some hard decisions to keep my workload manageable.

SKM Carolina Dream Esmeralda is available in milk. 6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

Peaked at 9.6lbs of milk as a first freshener this year. She is two years old, MDGA registered. Carried and kidded twins without issue - was a great mom! Currently on milk test and on track to earn her production award.

She still needs a little practice on her milk stand manner sometimes but she’s very workable especially as a first freshener. Only reason I’m letting her go is I need to make space for some keepers this year.

Blue eyes and has a moon spot so she could pass them onto her kids.

Photo of her is pre-freshening, I’m happy to provide updated photos to seriously interested parties. Herd was clean tested in January 2026 (CAE/CL/Johne’s). Can work with transport or possibly meet for a fee.

Aubrey has 2 DNA sexed male Sebastopol goslings to offer from her gaggle.

Grey saddleback and possibly a splash!!
Honestly, I want to keep the splash male but she has her eyes on another. 😅

Hand raised and very sweet. Message for details.

Edit: grey saddleback is claimed. 💙

Rainbow eggs are back!! 🌈🥚

With hatching season winding down we have found ourselves with an egg surplus. Understanding that convenience is king, I’ve been toying with the idea of a delivery service for our farm fresh eggs. This would be for the Rochester/Dover area on a weekly or biweekly basis.

A few ground rules…
- Prepayment is required to sign up for delivery. Think of it like a CSA!
- I pick the delivery date, which would most likely be Monday or Thursday.
- You will not have to be home to accept delivery but I highly suggest leaving a cooler of some sort out and ready.
- Eggs are $6/dozen. This includes a small fee associated with delivery that may be waved if cartons are regularly returned CLEAN.

If this interests you, please send me a message! I’ll only be doing this if there’s enough interest to make it worth my time.

This was the year I told myself I would NOT be buying any goats, but…

Homeward Bound SD Opportunity Knocks *B

Joined our herd this weekend all the way from Wisconsin. Knox was selected to improve lateral attachments and smooth foreudders while also having excellent rear udder height and teat length behind him. He’s no slouch conformationally either! He’s got great width while remaining very dairy in overall appearance.

His dam is Blackberry’s Bob’s Hearth 3*P making Knox our first goat with Blackberry genes!! His sire is Homeward Bound FM Sir Danny who boasts an impressive pedigree of Green Gables lineage.

We are so excited to have Knox here in our lineup of herd sires. We’ll see if he’s ready this fall! Thank you Homeward Bound Farm for the opportunity to scoop this guy up!

Now I need to stay off the internet before I find any more “opportunities” this year. 😂🤭

The best part of breeding your own chickens is the flexibility to breed for what YOU want. That may even look different from year to year, but hey…your chickens, your rules!

Right now I want to focus on Copper Marans that lay speckled eggs. 😎

Sequoia is so photogenic, even covered in alfalfa hay. 😂 No joke, quads was pretty excessive but I’m very grateful we ended up with such a beautiful, healthy crop of kids!

And look at that width! I can’t wait to enter her in some shows this year.

Unfortunately for me, we didn’t name our farm “Muddy” just to be cute. 🥲

The reality of livestock is that they p**p. A LOT. Mix in a little water and it’s a quick recipe for some really gross environments. I mucked out this chicken run last week (winter accumulation of straw, dirt, f***s etc.) but after the rain we’ve been getting it was time for more help.

In cases like this, equine pine pellets are my favorite. I spread a thin layer and let them fluff up. They quickly absorb excess moisture and provide a nice soft substrate for the chickens to ultimately destroy. 🤣

I think the before and after speaks for itself!
