MN area sheep friends. The MN bred ewe sale is coming up Thanksgiving Saturday November 30th, in River Falls, WI. The sale is sponsored by the MN Hampshire Association

They have some good Hampshire, Suffolk and Southdown ewes consigned among others. They would like some more Slick Sheared ewes consigned. If interested let Melanie Peterson know or see http://www.mnhampshires.org/minnesota-bred-ewe-sale.

I'm all sold out of breeding stock so I won't be consigning but if anyone had a few good bred ewes available this would be a good way to move them to good homes, or if you want some new ewes a good source.

Thanks to Peterson Hyway Farm for sponsoring AI day with RSG today and all the helpers. I tried something new this year to see if a Irish Hampshire ram will put some more muscle on our lambs. I also bred my ewe with the biggest loin eye I've had scanned 4.0+ sq in to the ram that's sired one of the biggest Hamp loins in a carcass contest(also well over 4) when we used E-Roc.

This is pretty close to the phenotype of sheep we are breeding for. A nice combo of bone, good frame size, good top and clear muscle expression in the leg. All in a eye appealing package with good breed character. IMO this type of ewe that can serve as an outcross for frame breeders wanting muscle and wether dam breeders wanting more frame. She do can be lined up for even more growth. She's sired by BullDealer. Our Bullseye son out of BigDeal (Big Chill).

I have consigned some slick sheared Hampsire lambs to Sedalia (Midwest Stud Ram Sale).

24223 is our Jan ram. He weighed 179 lbs May 25. He has a +8.0 PWWT in the last NSIP run. He's sired by BullDealer our Bullseye son. I look forward to seeing you if your planning to be there.
