After a lot of back and forth, self reflection, margaritas, ice cream etc. I have decided to leave the New Durham Farmers’ Market. Thank you so much to all my amazing customers! I’m going to miss the weekly conversations. I’m going to miss the amazing vendors that have become my extended family over the last year and half but the truth is that I need more weekends like this. Weekends have always been for family 💗

I will still be growing food and raising rabbits. Although I raise rabbits mainly to fill our own freezer I do sell a few from each litter whether they’ll be breeders, pets or butchered. If interested please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Please excuse the weeds. We’re feeding the bees 🐝 AND the rabbits AND the goats AND the chickens.
I have found myself not taking pictures of my gardens this year because they’re a mess. But ya know what yards of precisely trimmed grass aren’t feeding anyone. I intentionally let these weeds grow so that they can feed our animals which in turn feed us. I see the “please excuse the weeds” signs a lot and I have a love/hate relationship with them because having a yard that grows something other than a monoculture of grass should be the norm…no one should be apologizing for it.
Free, healthy food for your animals is always a win 🎉

It can be a long wait when you’re waiting for your friends to hatch 😴

Did you know that coturnix quail only take 18 days to hatch out and it’s not uncommon for them to pop out sooner? They also reach maturity at only 8 weeks old!

The first New Durham Farmers’ Market of the season will be May 28th 10-2 🎉 All of your favorites will be there! I’ll have plenty of plants(tomatoes, basil, eggplants,peppers, cucumbers,squashes, nasturtiums etc.) radishes, quail eggs and some baby bunnies to visit 🌻🐇🍅🌱

It officially feels like spring when all the ladies are laying, including the quail. This rainbow of eggs needs no filter. Chicken eggs are 3.50/doz., quail eggs 2.50/doz., and fertile quail eggs to be determined. I want to get a handle on the hatch rate before offering them up for sale 🐣
