Some days on the farm are picture-perfect... and some days keep us humble. ❤️🐓
Our stubborn broody mama decided motherhood wasn't for her after all, so this hatch didn't go the way we hoped. That's just part of life with chickens—sometimes they have plans of their own. 🤷🏼‍♀️
The rest of the flock, though? They're thriving. From our handsome roosters and curious young pullets to ducks enjoying their afternoon swim, every day around here gives us something to smile about.

Hello friends!

It's been a minute.

Life has been a little crazy around here, and if I'm being honest, social media ended up taking a back seat for a while.

The chickens, on the other hand, haven't slowed down one bit. We've had broody hens, chicks hatching, incubators running, and we're getting ready for another hatch... including ducklings!

You may have also noticed we've had a little name change.

Knightfall Hen & Co. is now The Nest of Grace
Knightfall will always be where this journey began, but over time I realized I wanted a name that reflected more than just chickens. To me, a nest is a place where life begins, where things are nurtured, and where they grow. That's exactly what I want this little farm to be.

The Nest of Grace just feels like home.

We're still raising chickens, hatching babies year-round, and learning something new every day. We're just doing it under a name that feels a little more like us.

And don't worry, shortly we will be adding some more addition to The Nest of Grace family. I'm hoping to add some merchandise available for purchase from each member of our family, myself included. 🩶

🐓 Meet the King of The Nest 🤍

If you've been around for a while, you've probably heard me mention him...
This is Coy, my Buff Orphington.

Coy isn't just one of our roosters—he's family.
He's sweet, gentle, and just a little spoiled. (Okay... a lot spoiled. 😂)

He has his own little bed inside the house, follows us around like he owns the place, and somehow convinced everyone that he's in charge around here.

Truth be told... he probably is. 👑🐓
He may not know it, but he's one of the biggest reasons The Nest of Grace exists. Every day he reminds us that chickens aren't "just chickens." They're full of personality, curiosity, and joy.

So if you see us talking about Coy... now you know why. 💛

I hope everyone had a great spring break!

I am so sorry I have been MIA, this entire month has been absolutely bonkers. Im trying to get back on track this week!!

Anyways, momma hen hatched these 3 babies out on Saturday. Yall, let me tell you she is the world's greatest mama!

Now my older hens, their being naughty and eating their food and drinking their water. So I think im going to have to separate them and mama until the chicks are a little older.

I am fixing to start hatching chicks for spring/summer and as soon as they are ready I will let you guys know! In the meantime I still have eggs and hatching eggs. If you're wanting grow outs you'll have to wait another couple weeks before i have space available for them. But I am taking chick orders as well!!

So as I add to my flock, I am trying to choose carefully to ensure that I am getting the best colors to provide the best varieties of eggs 🥚

Well with that being said my black copper marans are hatching as we speak!! I am so excited.

My welsumers are about 9 weeks old so I'm hoping by June ish we'll start seeing the pullet lay. So i may start offering them potentially in July.

Our chicks moved to a grow out pen for about a week or so. I may move them in with the flock on Saturday.

Our youngest chicks got moved to the outdoor pen! Woo hoo! They were stinky. 🤣

And some updated pics of our current laying flock!

Cannot forget our ducks! Hopefully now that' it's warming up I'll start getting duck eggs. 😁

Oh my gosh you guys, I have been so out of it this week!!

We should be good to resume egg sales this week, I am getting a beautiful 13 a day. For some reason they had a dry spell and I was only getting like 6-9 a day and the week I needed eggs was when I was getting lots of sales! So I have some on a wait list and I will get go you guys as I get eggs.
