The kids at the farm LOVE to show off their animals - especially the babies!

I know everyone is looking for CSA updates, and I apologize for my silence. It was a difficult winter, and the weather this spring has been challenging.

Right now, it looks like we will not be offering CSA boxes this spring. But fear not! We will be offering select produce a la carte through the spring and summer.

The kids have their own plans for making produce available - more details to come.

We thank everyone for their support over the past year. Thank you for supporting local agriculture.

New life on the farm!

I know many of you are eagerly awaiting CSA updates, I hope to hammer out the details this weekend.

Who's in the mood for kalettes and brussel sprouts?

Full disclosure: the brussel sprouts have sustained some damage from the deep freeze. Just like last year, you might find brown spots on some of them when you cut them open. But we wanted to give customers a chance to scoop some up.

If you've never met a kalette before, imagine a brussel sprout stalk with tiny heads of kale on it. It is delicious roasted with brussel sprouts or thrown in a soup.

Both will be available for pick up this Saturday. If interested, please send us a message via Facebook or text Alison directly.

Update from the farm:

I stopped by the farm this morning to check on the folks and the produce.

The folks are fine, the kids are out of school, and everyone was busy butchering a hog.

The produce is a wait and see question. Much of it is still frozen, and we need a good thaw before they can assess the damage. A good thaw meaning temperatures in the 50s.

Stay warm, stay safe, y'all, and I will let you know as soon as we have produce available. It's almost time for brussel sprouts and kalettes - let's hope they survive the storms!

Cold mornings like today are a good reminder of the "why" of our ordering process.

We ask for your orders by Noon the day before pick up because we cannot harvest frozen vegetables. During the winter months, we harvest in the afternoon, giving the produce a chance to rebound from overnight lows.
