🍯🍎 Honeycrisp Apples πŸ…πŸ―

I realized I wasn’t building this orchid for me and it’s ok to take my time and do it right. I grow all my apples trees from seed, and I know the wait time is a decade or so but this is for the future. I might not get it right at first, but I’m going to make sure I got it down before I leave.

Remember to come check us at Southern Pines Land and Housing Trust Juneteenth celebration. There will be local vendors and artist showcasing their talents. As for us, we will be selling farm fresh eggs(Chicken&Duck), as well as fresh produce from whatever we harvest by the end of the week. These are pics of what we have been harvesting so far. Don’t worry we have plenty of all, I just snapped a pic those when I harvested them.

πŸ₯’πŸ§½ Luffa Sponge 🧽πŸ₯’

Luffas are starting to climb the fence and flower. Last year I let them do thier own thang and I had a good harvest but lost more than I should have. I’m hoping the fence will help me keep the luffas off the ground and more visible. So far so good and fingers crossed this system I’m working out in my head proves true.

β€οΈπŸ… Garden Tomatoes πŸ…β€οΈ

Is everybody as ready for ripe tomatoes as I am? This year we are running 4 varieties.

-We have the classic cherry for salads, snacks and breakfast eggs.

-Red Beefsteak tomatoes for burger and all the other sandwiches.

-Yellow Pork Chop can be used like a Beefsteak, while adding a sweeter taste and more color.

-Roma for pizza sauce, pasta sauce and salsa.

The newest to the bunch is the Roma. We use a lot of ketchup and we know the key is having a couple different varieties to throw in there. I’m still thinking bout trying to add some black Cherokee tomatoes to the bunch, but I ain’t putting anything out with the way this heat been set up the last couple days. Maybe I’ll start some indoors to plant for a quick fall garden. I won’t hold you too long, y’all be blessed and enjoy your day.

What are your favorite types of tomatoes to grow?

Pulled out the ground and straight to the drying rack. That dirt lets you know, this produce is fresh as newborn baby.

πŸ’šπŸŒ± Okra Stalks πŸŒ±πŸ’š

I usually do transplanting, but this year I went direct sow. I had some transplants ready just in case but I know from now on I’m putting seeds in the ground. The stalks are healthier, the leaves are bigger and can absorb more sunlight, and direct sown plants take on weather changes a lot better than transplants. I understand that some things must be transplanted, but I will direct sow every plant I get a chance to.

The last pic is a couple of the transplants I had ready to go.
